Why did the Deputy Director of Ca Mau Historical Archives Center withdraw his resignation?

At the press conference for the first quarter of 2024 organized by the People's Committee of Ca Mau province and the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department on the afternoon of April 9, Mr. Nguyen Van Dam, Deputy Director of the Department of Home Affairs of Ca Mau province, provided information about the case of a deputy director of a center under the Department who applied for resignation and then withdrew the application.

Previously, around February 2024, Ms. PTE (40 years old, Deputy Director of the Ca Mau Provincial Historical Archives Center) submitted a resignation letter.

By the end of March 2024, the director of the Department of Home Affairs of Ca Mau province signed a decision to remove Ms. PTE from her position.

"However, on April 4, Ms. PTE withdrew her resignation because she had arranged her family affairs and did not request any more leave," Mr. Dam informed.

Ms. PTE has a Bachelor's degree in Archives and Office Administration. In 2012, Ms. PTE held the position of Head of the Collection and Editing Department of the Ca Mau Provincial Historical Archives Center.

In 2015, Ms. PTE was appointed Deputy Director of the Ca Mau Provincial Historical Archives Center.

Previously, the Disciplinary Council of the Department of Home Affairs of Ca Mau province met and agreed to impose a warning on Mr. Tran Quoc Viet, Director of the Provincial Historical Archives Center, and Ms. Dinh Thi Cam Nhung, accountant of this center.

Mr. Viet and Ms. Nhung were disciplined for their involvement in the inspection conclusion on the operation, management and use of public assets and financial resources at the Ca Mau Provincial Historical Archives Center.

Specifically, in the 2013-2022 inspection year, the Ca Mau Provincial Historical Archives Center was determined to have received 455 million VND from revenue from companies paying commissions, collective rewards, selling scrap paper... but did not enter the agency fund but established a life fund.

Regarding the amount of money individuals paid back from the document editing fee of 3.6 billion VND, the Inspectorate of Ca Mau province determined that the amount reported by the director of the Ca Mau Provincial Historical Archives Center had been spent to support groups and individuals outside the center of 888 million VND.
