Circular 43 of the Ministry of Health , effective from January 1, 2026, re-regulates the model and organizational structure of commune health stations in a professional direction, expanding functions. Accordingly, commune and ward health stations become public service units under the People's Committees of the same level, with legal status, seals and separate accounts.
Each health station must organize at least 5 departments and specialized rooms and develop a job position plan appropriate to the scope of activities. The station will undertake more than 22 groups of tasks from disease prevention, medical examination and treatment, maternal and child health care, food safety to community health management and social protection.
With the new structure, the commune health station is expected to become a primary health care center, contributing to preparing for the free periodic health check-up program for the entire population in 2026.
