Recently, Human Rights Watch released a report on the human rights situation in Vietnam in 2023. At the regular press briefing of the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the afternoon of January 25, Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang commented on this report.
"We completely reject and condemn the so-called Human Rights Watch for the false and fabricated content in the aforementioned report," Ms. Pham Thu Hang emphasized.
The spokesperson for the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that this is not the first time Human Rights Watch has "made slanderous and prejudiced accusations with malicious intent against Vietnam, plotting to undermine Vietnam's socio-economic development and divide Vietnam from the international community."
Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang pointed out that the efforts, determination, and achievements of the Vietnamese Government in ensuring fundamental human rights have been demonstrated through many practical socio-economic development results and have been widely recognized and highly appreciated by the people at home as well as the international community.
