Vietnam-North Macedonia promote cooperation in all fields

Appreciating the good friendship between Vietnam and North Macedonia over the past 30 years, President of North Macedonia Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova affirmed that North Macedonia always respects the independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity and political system of Vietnam.

Recently, at the Presidential Palace of North Macedonia, Vietnamese Ambassador to Bulgaria and concurrently to North Macedonia Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet presented the Letter of Credence of President Luong Cuong to President of North Macedonia Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova.

At the meeting after the presentation of her credentials, President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova sent her condolences to the leaders and people of Vietnam for the serious damage caused by recent storms and floods.

Appreciating the good friendship between Vietnam and North Macedonia over the past 30 years, President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova affirmed that North Macedonia always respects the independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity and political system of Vietnam.

Emphasizing that North Macedonia supports promoting bilateral cooperation and cooperation with Vietnam at multilateral forums, President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova said that the two countries still have a lot of room for cooperation in the fields of economy , culture, education, agriculture, health, tourism, as well as new fields such as information technology and digital transformation. North Macedonia is ready to be the gateway for Vietnamese goods to penetrate the European market and the Balkan region.

Ambassador Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet highly appreciated the socio-economic development achievements of North Macedonia in the context of the volatile world economic situation; affirmed to closely coordinate with relevant agencies of North Macedonia and make every effort to contribute to promoting the comprehensive development of bilateral relations in the coming time, especially increasing the exchange of delegations at all levels and promoting economic-trade, scientific-technical cooperation.

On that basis, Ambassador Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet suggested that the two sides continue to expand cooperation in the fields of culture, education, and tourism and affirmed that Vietnam is ready to act as a bridge to promote relations between North Macedonia and ASEAN countries.

On the occasion of presenting her credentials, Ambassador Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet had meetings with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade; Director of the Protocol Department; Director in charge of relations with countries outside the European Union (EU); Vice President of the Economic Chamber of North Macedonia and representatives of several large corporations and enterprises such as BUSHI and BAKO.

* Within the framework of the working visit to North Macedonia, in the capital Skopje, the Vietnamese Embassy organized the event “Vietnam-North Macedonia: Strengthening cooperation in innovation, trade and cultural exchange”, with the participation of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of North Macedonia Zoran Dimitrovski and representatives of ministries, branches, diplomatic corps, international organizations, businesses and the Vietnamese community in North Macedonia.

At the event, Ambassador Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet highlighted Vietnam's socio-economic development achievements after nearly 40 years of Doi Moi; affirmed the determination to promote bilateral friendship and cooperation in the fields of economics, trade, cultural exchange and people-to-people cooperation. The Ambassador emphasized the great potential for cooperation in science, technology and innovation, on the basis of Vietnam implementing Resolution 57-NQ/TW and North Macedonia implementing the SMART/MK 2030 Strategy.

North Macedonia’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Zoran Dimitrovski highly appreciated Vietnam’s strong development in recent times; affirmed the growing importance of the Asia-Pacific region to Europe; and said that North Macedonia always creates favorable conditions to promote economic-trade and tourism cooperation between the two countries, as well as will continue to support Vietnam at multilateral forums.
