Orientation of high quality vocational training

Speaking at the project launch event, Deputy Minister of Education and Training, Associate Professor, Dr. Hoang Minh Son, said that this is a very creative idea. In the context of vocational education in Vietnam still not developing evenly, the German vocational education model is very successful, playing an important role in developing high-quality human resources for industries.

Vietnam and Germany have many years of cooperation in the field of education, especially vocational education. The presence of German companies and corporations in Vietnam also contributes to promoting practical initiatives, including the Career Coach.

Mr. Son said: "We appreciate the initiative of the German Embassy and the close coordination of German representative agencies in Vietnam, believing that this initiative will bring a strong message to Vietnamese youth in career orientation, helping them choose the right path for their future.

This is even more meaningful in the context of Vietnam promoting the development of high-tech industries - a field that requires quality human resources not only at the university level but also from vocational education. Balancing the industry structure will be the foundation for promoting sustainable economic growth."

The Deputy Minister also said that this is a very practical approach that Vietnamese colleges and universities can completely learn and apply to improve the effectiveness of career guidance work.

"We also expect Germany to continue to support Vietnam in introducing career orientation elements into high schools early, helping students have the opportunity to access and better understand future careers.

At the same time, the two sides need to promote the development of high-quality vocational training centers according to international standards, not only to serve domestic needs but also to export highly skilled labor. Germany can also support Vietnam in training teachers and managers in the field of vocational education, especially in areas such as digitalization, skills assessment and connection to the global labor market."

Special symbol emphasizes the human element in bilateral relations

German Ambassador to Vietnam, Ms. Helga Margarete Barth, described the bus as a special symbol of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Germany. "In our view, this will certainly be a highlight in the joint journey of the two countries - large in scale and full of ambition. The bus's journey celebrates the close cooperation between the two countries in education, innovation and labor migration".

According to the Ambassador, Vietnam and Germany have had a deep relationship between the people of the two countries for many decades. Currently, there is a large and well-integrated Vietnamese and German community in Germany. "We are extremely grateful for their contributions – they are an essential and valued part of our society. This bond is now continued by the younger generation – young Vietnamese people who are learning German to prepare for their careers in Germany".

She added that what makes the “German Career Coach” project special is its mobility. This is not a traditional job fair, but a journey through nearly 20 provinces, cities and colleges and universities across Vietnam. The goal is to bring information directly to people, especially young people, about opportunities to study, train and work in Germany. This content is provided by experts and reputable organizations, ensuring accuracy and usefulness.

"We chose to launch this initiative on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Germany because the special thing in this bilateral relationship is the human factor. It is not only the cooperation between governments or businesses, but also the strong bond between the people of the two countries.

The Vietnamese community in Germany was formed in the 1970s and 1980s, many of whom came to learn a trade, attend university, work and become an important part of German society. We want to maintain and develop this connection by supporting the young generation of Vietnam to access career and study opportunities in Germany."

Similar initiatives will create more opportunities for the youth of the two countries to meet, exchange, learn each other's languages , "and I really hope that more Germans will learn Vietnamese".

The Ambassador said that the Vietnamese community in Germany has made a great contribution to the common development. There are currently more than 200,000 people of Vietnamese origin living in Germany, working in many fields such as science, economics, and politics. They are known for their diligence, intelligence, and high sense of responsibility. "We highly value this community and consider them an important part of German society."

In the field of high technology, Germany is supporting Vietnam through DAAD scholarship programs for talented Vietnamese students to study at German universities. At the same time, many German companies are also cooperating with businesses and universities in Vietnam to develop high-quality human resources. These are practical and potential cooperations for the future.
