Speaking at the meeting, Ambassador Khamphao Ernthavanh emphasized that on September 2, 1945, President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam), marking the birth of an independent, sovereign and territorially intact nation.

Over the past 80 years, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam , the Vietnamese people have achieved many historic victories in the struggle for national liberation and reunification, and have achieved great and comprehensive achievements in all fields. The Ambassador congratulated Vietnam on maintaining political stability, solid national defense and security, sustainable economic growth, educational and cultural - social development, and increasingly affirming its position in the region and the international arena.
The Ambassador emphasized that Laos and Vietnam are two close neighbors, who stood side by side in the struggle for independence and now continue to accompany each other in the cause of construction and development. She sent her congratulations to the Party, State, and people of Vietnam and the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Association; affirming her determination to continue to implement the cooperation contents set forth by the leaders of the two countries with the Association.

Expressing gratitude for the sentiments and best wishes of Ambassador Khamphao Ernthavanh, Mr. Nguyen Dac Vinh, member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee for Culture and Society, President of the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association, recalled the 80-year history of Vietnam, including 30 years of fighting for independence and national reunification and nearly 40 years of renovation. He emphasized that today's achievements are partly contributed by the wholehearted support of the Lao people.
Mr. Nguyen Dac Vinh affirmed that Vietnam always attaches special importance to and preserves the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation with Laos. He said that the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association is coordinating preparations for activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day, including a program to welcome the Laos - Vietnam Friendship Association delegation led by President Boviengkham Vongdara to visit Vietnam. He expressed his wish to increase exchanges and establish regular connection channels to promote people-to-people cooperation, contributing to deepening the special sentiment between the two nations.
