On October 26, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang responded to a press question asking for Vietnam's reaction to Cambodia and Thailand signing a peace document on the occasion of attending the 47th ASEAN Summit and related summits held in Malaysia.
According to the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs , as a neighbor of Cambodia and Thailand and an ASEAN member, Vietnam is interested in and welcomes Cambodia and Thailand signing the peace document on October 26.

Ms. Hang emphasized that this is an important and positive step, demonstrating the two countries' commitment to peace, cooperation and development, in accordance with the ASEAN Charter and the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia (TAC).
"We appreciate the efforts of countries, including Malaysia, ASEAN 2025 Chair and Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, the US and President Donald Trump, and relevant parties in the process of seeking a peaceful solution to the issue," the Foreign Ministry spokesman said.
Ms. Hang emphasized that Vietnam believes that the peace document will create a foundation to strengthen trust and move towards a long-term peaceful solution. Vietnam will continue to actively participate in ASEAN's joint efforts to support Cambodia and Thailand in fully and effectively implementing this document.
