Vietcombank accompanies the Data for Life 2024 competition

Within the framework of the final round, Mr. Pham Thanh Son - Deputy Director of Vietcombank Information Technology Center participated in a discussion on innovation, data application in life and technology solutions.

The 2024 International Competition to Find Technology Solutions "Data for Life" is jointly organized by the Department of Administrative Police for Social Order, Ministry of Public Security; Hanoi University of Science and Technology and Vietnam Television to seek ideas, solutions and information technology products from young talents to serve the construction of Digital Government, Digital Society and Digital Economy.

On November 27, 2024, the final round of the competition took place with the participation of 6 teams: X-Fea, NCB-CDS-AIML, Small World Big Venture, ZeroToHero, GoTrust and MB.

The program was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of Science and Technology, Hanoi Youth Union, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, training and research units, technology companies, major banks in Vietnam, and international experts. Representative of Vietcombank, Mr. Pham Thanh Son - Deputy Director of Information Technology Center attended and spoke at the program.

Speaking at the opening of the final round, Colonel Vu Van Tan, Deputy Director of the Department of Administrative Police for Social Order, Ministry of Public Security, Head of the Organizing Committee of the contest, said: If the first season had 198 entries, in the second season, Data for life 2024 attracted up to 376 ideas, products from more than 800 contestants were expanded in many fields, on an international scale. Colonel Vu Van Tan emphasized that this is a playground for young people to exploit data, proving that data can be put into many solutions for practical application. Entering the second season, the quality of contestants as well as entries has increased significantly. Most teams already have existing products, clearly identify their target audience and apply modern technologies such as machine learning, AI, etc.

The 6 entries from the 6 teams all received high praise from both domestic and international judges. Most of the judges said that the solutions were very useful and could be expanded in the future.

Previously, at the meeting to announce the results of the competition application round on October 12, 2024, Ms. Doan Hong Nhung - Member of the Executive Board, Director of Vietcombank Retail Division attended and informed: with a vision of developing towards the "AI-first" model, Vietcombank is actively applying artificial intelligence to its product ecosystem and transaction network.
