For Vietnam Airlines, the Hanoi - Chengdu route is of great significance in the airline's international flight network development strategy, opening a new door for tourists from both countries to explore famous destinations in Vietnam and China more easily and conveniently. Chengdu has a long history of up to 4,000 years and is known as the "prosperous land", the "heart" of Sichuan (China). This is also a popular tourist destination, attracting a large number of tourists from all over
the world to visit the panda park and enjoy the special, famous dishes of the Sichuan region. From here, passengers can easily travel to other locations such as Jiuzhaigou.

Meanwhile, with the Hanoi - Chengdu route, Vietnam Airlines hopes to attract more tourists to visit famous destinations in Vietnam and especially connecting flights from Hanoi to coastal tourist destinations across the country. This is a great attraction of Vietnam tourism for tourists from Chengdu and neighboring areas because these areas are located deep inland in China and have no sea. Up to now, Vietnam Airlines is operating 5 routes between Vietnam and China, with a total of 33 round-trip flights per week. The airline has just marked the 30th anniversary of opening the route and welcomed the 100,000th flight on the China route. Over the past 3 decades, Vietnam Airlines has transported more than 11 million passengers and more than 166,000 tons of cargo between the two countries, making a positive contribution to
diplomatic relations as well as economic and cultural exchanges between the two countries.
