Vinamilk is also the first dairy company in Vietnam to have factories and farms that meet carbon neutrality standards according to PAS 2060:2014.
Vinamilk, the Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company, has just announced its roadmap towards Net Zero 2050 with the action program "Vinamilk Pathway to Dairy Net Zero 2050".
Accordingly, the company will reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 15% by 2027, reduce and neutralize emissions by 55% by 2035, and move towards the goal of Net Zero emissions by 2050.
At an event held in Cua Lo town on the morning of May 26th, Vinamilk's Nghe An Dairy Factory and Nghe An Dairy Farm became the first two units of the company to be awarded carbon neutrality certification according to PAS 2060 standards by independent international assessment organizations.

As a leading dairy company in Vietnam, with a system of high-tech factories and farms and millions of products supplied daily, Vinamilk has developed an action plan focusing on four key areas: Sustainable agriculture , Green production, Environmentally friendly logistics, and Sustainable consumption.
Following the completion of the greenhouse gas inventory at its facilities in 2022, Vinamilk Nghe An Dairy Factory and Vinamilk Nghe An Dairy Farm became the first units to achieve carbon neutrality according to PAS2060:2014 standards. Vinamilk was also confirmed as the first dairy company in Vietnam to have both its factory and farm achieve carbon neutrality according to this standard.

Accordingly, the total amount of greenhouse gas emissions from these two units that have been neutralized is 17,560 tons of CO2 (equivalent to approximately 1.7 million trees) thanks to the businesses' efforts to reduce emissions in production and livestock farming and maintain a green space to absorb greenhouse gases over the years.

Ms. Nguyen Dinh Minh Tam, representative of BSI (British Standards Institute) – the certification body – stated that Vinamilk is among the few companies striving for sustainable development by conducting accurate and thorough greenhouse gas inventories early on, thereby building emission reduction roadmaps.
Representatives from Bureau Veritas (UK), the agency that certified Vinamilk's farm in Nghe An, stated that reducing greenhouse gas emissions and achieving Net Zero in the dairy industry is very challenging, especially for large-scale dairy farms. This goal requires investment in technological solutions, green energy transition, and the application of the circular economy.
"Vinamilk's achievements are a great encouragement for the Net Zero progress of the dairy industry in general," said Mr. Nguyen Viet Dung, General Director of Bureau Veritas.
According to Vinamilk representatives, in addition to demonstrating the company's commitment to the community, the company hopes to contribute to strongly conveying positive messages to the business community, joining hands with the Government on the Net Zero journey for a green and sustainable future.

Vinamilk currently makes significant contributions to the sustainable development of the dairy industry, while strongly promoting the process towards Net Zero 2050. Since 2012, the company has published sustainability reports according to international standards to accurately assess its advanced practices. In the 2022-2026 strategic period, sustainable development has become one of Vinamilk's four strategic priorities. The company has also invested heavily in building dairy farm models such as Green Farm, oriented towards sustainable agriculture. All factories have undergone significant transformation, applying high technology and circular economy principles from an early stage to reduce emissions.
Vinamilk is also the first Vietnamese dairy company to participate in the global dairy industry initiative on Net Zero - Pathways to Dairy Net Zero, founded by the International Dairy Federation (IDF), the Dairy Sustainable Development Framework (DSF), the Global Dairy Platform, etc.
