Vinh Long: Rain and wind could not stop spectators from cheering on the racing drivers.

(NLDO) – It was pouring rain at the stadium in Vinh Long, but hundreds of spectators still cheered for the 65 motorcycle racers competing in the national championship cup.

On November 2, despite heavy rain, hundreds of spectators still came to Tra Vinh Stadium (Vinh Long province) to cheer for athletes participating in the "1st National Championship Cup 2025" round-course motorcycle racing tournament.

The racers competed fiercely.

The event is within the framework Culture - Sports and Tourism Week of Vinh Long province, with the theme "Discovering and experiencing national intangible cultural heritage - Ok Om Bok Festival" in 2025.

Mr. Cao Quoc Dung - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vinh Long province said that this year's tournament gathered 8 participating units, including: Can Tho City, An Giang, Vinh Long, Ho Chi Minh City, Ca Mau, Tay Ninh, Da Nang and Lam Dong, with 65 athletes representing 40 clubs.

Athletes compete in 3 categories: YAZ 125cc, Sport 120cc, four-stroke 150cc.

Many racers fell on the road due to the rain

"The tournament is an opportunity for racers to demonstrate their bravery, skills and passion for speed. At the same time, this is also an opportunity to exchange, learn and promote the motor sports movement in the country to develop more and more strongly" - Mr. Dung affirmed.

Vinh Long province leaders awarded prizes to the winning athletes.

Mr. Le Thanh Tu (residing in Nguyet Hoa ward, Vinh Long province) expressed: "Although it was raining heavily, I and everyone else were still determined to come watch because this was the first national-scale race held right in our hometown. The image of them clinging to the road with great technique and the loud cheering made us forget the cold rain, leaving only excitement and admiration."
