Associate Professor Dr. Huynh Quyet Thang, with more than 20 years of experience at Hanoi University of Science and Technology, has made many contributions to promoting innovation in methods and improving the quality of enrollment, participating in the project to transform the organizational model of Hanoi University of Science and Technology towards a multidisciplinary, multi-field university on par with international standards and contributing to improving the school's position on the world ranking system.

From 1998 to present, he is a lecturer at Hanoi University of Science and Technology.

In 2009, he held the position of Director of the Institute of Information and Communication Technology. In 2020, Associate Professor Dr. Huynh Quyet Thang was appointed as the Rector of Hanoi University of Science and Technology. In 2022, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 1512/QD-TTg to convert Hanoi University of Science and Technology into Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Associate Professor Dr. Huynh Quyet Thang was recognized as the Director of Hanoi University of Science and Technology.

As an educational manager, Associate Professor Dr. Huynh Quyet Thang has closely directed and successfully implemented the transformation of the university's organizational model. Along with the transformation process is the work of reorganizing the organizational structure towards streamlining and efficiency, improving the quality and operational efficiency of public service units. Hanoi University of Science and Technology has established 5 schools under the University on the basis of reorganizing the training institutes and research institutes (School of Mechanics, School of Information Technology, School of Electricity - Electronics, School of Materials, School of Chemistry and Life Sciences).

The transformation process has brought about many encouraging results. The number of units under/affiliated to the university has been reduced from 52 to 42. After completing the transformation process from a university to a university, Hanoi University of Science and Technology will reduce by 50-60% the number of administrative management units and management staff at all levels.
