Asian Cup Qualifier 2: Defeating U20 Lebanon, U20 Vietnam women's team soon won the right to enter the final round

Facing U20 Lebanon, a victory will help U20 Vietnam women secure a place in the final round of U20 Women's Asian Cup.

Entering the match, U20 Vietnam took the initiative, continuously creating dangerous situations towards the U20 Lebanon goal.

Although coach Akira's students completely controlled the match during the first 30 minutes of the half, with a focused defense, the attacks of the Vietnamese women's U20 team only stopped at the opportunity level.

In the 33rd minute, captain Le Thi Bao Tram had a header that looked like it was placed into the U20 Lebanon net but was disallowed due to a foul. 7 minutes later, opportunities continued to be created in front of the U20 Lebanon goal, Thanh Hieu, Thi Hoa, Thanh Thao took turns shooting but could not break the deadlock of the match. It was not until the 45+4 minute of extra time that Minh Chuyen dribbled past 2 U20 Lebanon defenders and finished, defeating the opponent's goalkeeper to score the opening goal of the match before the first half ended.

U20 Vietnam completely controlled the game against U20 Lebanon in both halves.

With the advantage of goals before entering the second half, it seemed that the U20 women's team of Vietnam would soon have more goals, but it took 32 minutes of play in the second half for the goal to double the advantage for U20 Vietnam thanks to Bao Tram.

Less than 1 minute later, Minh Chuyen brought home a double for himself to raise the score to 3-0. Thi Trang received the ball and penetrated the penalty area, attracting 3 opposing defenders to create space and assist Minh Chuyen. This was also the final score of the match, although the remaining time, coach Ijiri and his team almost only played on the opponent's field, but the opportunities created could not be converted into goals.

Minh Chuyen and Bao Tram (number 2) scored 2 goals in the second half to raise the score to 3-0.

With the victory over Lebanon, U20 Vietnam and U20 Australia are sure to advance to the final round. U20 Asian Cup 2024 becomes the 6th season that U20 Vietnam women participate. In the previous match, U20 Australia women defeated U20 Iran 3-0 to firmly hold the top position in Group A with 6 points and a goal difference of 8.

In the final round, the Vietnam U20 women's team will have a rematch with the Australian U20 team after losing in the final of the 2022 AFF U18 Cup. The match will take place at 7:00 p.m. on June 7.
