On the evening of August 30, Mr. Pham Van Phuong, Secretary of the Party Committee of Ia Hiao Commune ( Gia Lai Province), said that the locality is focusing all resources to support people in treatment after the suspected food poisoning incident in Chrôh Pơnan village, which caused 131 people to be hospitalized.
According to the investigation, when discovering that many people showed signs of poisoning after the housewarming party, Mr. Nay Loi (a resident of Ia Hiao commune) determined that the incident was serious and needed a prestigious person in the commune to direct the treatment for the people. He went to the Facebook page “Ia Hiao New Day” to find the phone number of the Party Secretary, then called directly to report the news.
The Party Secretary of Ia Hiao commune confirmed that as soon as he received the call from the people on the afternoon of August 29, he committed to urgently taking the people to the emergency room, and at the same time encouraged the informant to join in transporting the patient to the hospital.

According to the Party Secretary of Ia Hiao Commune, Pham Van Phuong, he directed the making of a list of all party attendees, including those who brought food home, to screen and isolate cases with suspected poisoning symptoms and mobilize them for treatment. At the same time, the commune requested Phu Thien Medical Center and Ayun Pa Medical Center to mobilize vehicles to support.
The mobilization process encountered difficulties because many people were worried about the hospital fees. The local authorities explained that those who had health insurance should bring it, those who did not have it would receive financial support from the commune so that they could be assured of being hospitalized. At the hospital, when people continued to worry about the costs of long-term treatment, the commune leaders reassured them that "the commune will take care of the costs", so that people could feel secure in their treatment.
“During the time people are being treated, the commune coordinates with donors to prepare meals for them, ensuring food hygiene. Police forces are deployed to maintain security and order in the village and protect the property of households with hospitalized members,” said Mr. Pham Van Phuong.

As reported by SGGP, after a housewarming party at a household in Chrôh Pơnan village (Ia Hiao commune), 131 people were hospitalized with symptoms of vomiting, stomachache, and fever. Currently, the health of the patients is basically stable and they are being monitored.
