On the afternoon of May 16, a representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health Inspectorate confirmed to Dan Tri reporter that the agency had received information about a foreign woman who suffered a serious accident after liposuction surgery.
The patient is Mrs. E. (57 years old, Indonesian nationality). According to a report from Gia Dinh General Hospital (Binh Thanh District), on May 3, this place received Mrs. E. in a state of excess fat in the abdomen, hips and back.
The patient was examined and consulted before liposuction surgery. Two days after surgery, the hospital noted that the female client's surgical wound showed signs of infection, so a treatment consultation was conducted.
After 2 days of intensive care, seeing that Mrs. E.'s progress had not shown any positive signs, Gia Dinh General Hospital transferred the patient to Military Hospital 175 on May 9, in a state of septic shock and acute heart failure.

Speaking to reporters, the leader of Gia Dinh General Hospital said that Ms. E. was introduced here by a cosmetic facility.
During the pre-operative examination, the doctors noted that the woman had diabetes, so they advised her of possible complications during surgery. However, the patient decided to sign a consent form to undergo surgery.
After the cosmetic accident, the hospital contacted the family, and the patient's daughter flew from Indonesia to Vietnam to take care of her mother. Currently, Ms. E. continues to receive treatment at the Intensive Care Unit, Military Hospital 175.
"In this case, I should have strongly explained to the patient to postpone the surgery, but he really wanted to have the surgery right away.
This is an unexpected medical incident, the hospital continues to coordinate with the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health to clarify and monitor the patient's condition," said the leader of Gia Dinh General Hospital.
It is known that the quick reports of the two above hospitals about the incident have been sent to the Medical Affairs Department, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health. Currently, this department is implementing the direction of the Department's Board of Directors to rectify the hospital's cosmetic surgery, especially techniques related to liposuction.
