In order for children to have a happy and memorable Mid-Autumn Festival in their childhood, on the evening of September 16, the Khmer-Vietnamese Association in Cambodia (KVA) coordinated with the Khmer-Vietnamese Association, Phnom Penh branch, to organize the program "Full Moon Festival Night," to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival for students of Vietnamese origin at the Khmer-Vietnamese Tan Tien Friendship Primary School in Phnom Penh, Kingdom of Cambodia.

Attending the program were representatives of the Vietnamese Embassy in Cambodia, leaders of the General Association and the KVA branch in Phnom Penh, along with the Board of Directors of the Khmer-Vietnam Tan Tien Friendship Primary School and many parents of students who came to celebrate with the children.

The “Full Moon Festival” program was organized by the Khmer-Vietnamese Association in Cambodia and its branch in Phnom Penh at Tan Tien Khmer-Vietnamese Friendship Primary School, where students from Vietnamese families attend.

The program took place in a jubilant, exciting atmosphere with the excitement of the students, thereby helping them enjoy the joyful, warm Mid-Autumn Festival atmosphere, filled with beautiful memories of childhood.

Speaking at the program, KVA President Sim Chy expressed his gratitude to businesses and philanthropists who have cared and helped the association organize this meaningful program, so that children can enjoy the Mid-Autumn Festival. Through the program, the President of the Khmer-Vietnamese Association in Cambodia also encouraged students to study hard.

In the 2024 “Full Moon Festival” program in the suburbs of Phnom Penh, children participated in exciting games and learned about the meaning of the Mid-Autumn Festival. This is also an opportunity for children to learn more about national cultural traditions and to honor family and community values.

Speaking at the program, Ms. Thach Thi Lan - Principal of Tan Tien Khmer-Vietnam Friendship Primary School, shared that every year, the school organizes a simple Mid-Autumn Festival celebration due to lack of facilities, so it has to be held outdoors, in a small campus.

However, this year, the Khmer-Vietnam Tan Tien Friendship Primary School has a hall to organize the program. Although the hall is small, it is also a source of pride and contributes to the joy of the students celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival.

On this occasion, the Organizing Committee gave Mid-Autumn gifts to the children, including lanterns and moon cakes, with the wish that the children would have a warm, cozy and joyful Mid-Autumn Festival, thereby encouraging the learning spirit of the students.

Organizing the Mid-Autumn Festival has become a familiar annual cultural activity, always awaited by children of the Vietnamese community in Cambodia.

The program not only creates a healthy and useful playground, helping children have a meaningful Mid-Autumn Festival to study better, but also helps them understand more about the meaning of traditional customs and good morals of the Vietnamese people, while strengthening the feelings of future generations of Vietnam and Cambodia./.
