The activity "The Navy sponsors fishermen's children" aims to expand and improve the effectiveness of the implementation of the goals of the program "The Vietnamese Navy is a fulcrum for fishermen to stay at sea".
This activity contributes to the effective implementation of policies and laws on child care, education and protection, ensuring children's comprehensive development. Accordingly, Region 2 receives support and sponsors in each province 5 children of fishermen with especially difficult circumstances from the districts in the area.

Leaders of Vinh Chau town, Soc Trang province presented flowers to thank leaders of Region 2 and benefactors.
The children were supported with school supplies, necessities, medical care and 500,000 VND/child/month. Units of Naval Region 2 and businesses presented gifts, bicycles and one-year sponsorship funding to the sponsored children in the above provinces.

The program "The Navy is a support for fishermen to go offshore and stick to the sea" and the activity "The Navy sponsors fishermen's children" are activities with profound political and social significance.
Military Region 2 doctors provide free medical examinations to fishermen at Hai Ngu Medical Center, Ward 1, Vinh Chau town, Soc Trang province.
These activities aim to build a people's heart at sea, contribute to sharing difficulties with the rear and fishermen's families in the sea and islands; enhance the effectiveness of mass mobilization work, military-civilian solidarity, help fishermen feel secure to go offshore to exploit seafood while firmly protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.
These activities also improve the quality and effectiveness of propaganda activities, helping fishermen exploit seafood safely and legally, contributing to removing the European Commission's "yellow card" and preventing illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing.
On this occasion, the Naval Region 2 Command also presented fishermen from each province with 300 national flags, 100 life jackets, 100 bags of sea medicine; distributed propaganda leaflets and provided free medical examinations and medicine to fishermen.
On July 20, this activity of Region 2 will continue to be carried out in Tra Vinh province.
