Number one seed Alcaraz and number two seed Djokovic created an exciting and fierce final match, just as fans expected.

The two players played for 3 hours and 50 minutes for only 3 sets, which was enough to prove the appeal of the 2023 Cincinnati Masters final.

For the fifth consecutive match, Alcaraz had to play all three sets at the Cincinnati Masters, but unfortunately this time he could not win like the previous four times.

Djokovic made an impressive comeback after losing the first set, the Serbian player won the title after winning two tie-breaks. This is the third time Djokovic has won the Cincinnati Masters, previously he won the title in 2018 and 2020.

Entering the final, Djokovic served first and quickly broke. The Serbian player successfully broke the sixth game, leading 4-2, however, Alcaraz also quickly demanded a break in the next game, not allowing his opponent to extend the score.

Chasing fiercely, Alcaraz took the lead for the first time with a break in game 11, immediately after that the Spaniard sealed the victory 7-5 when successfully defending his serve game.

Winning the first set gave Alcaraz confidence, he broke the third game in the second set and continuously created a two-game gap.

However, Djokovic did not give up easily, the second seed successfully demanded a break in game 8, equalizing the score at 4-4. When the set entered the tie-break, the Serbian player won two mini breaks, lost one mini break and won 9-7.

In the deciding set, Alcaraz could only play steadily in the first games of his serve. The number one seed had to save two break-points in the fifth game, then he could not defend game 7 (3-5) after facing five breaks. In the ninth game, Alcaraz saved two match-points to continue to nurture the hope of chasing Djokovic.

Djokovic had the right to decide when serving in game 10, but the Serbian player could not protect his serve. Alcaraz forced his opponent to play a long game, he also saved two more match-points. On the fourth break-point, Alcaraz successfully claimed the break (5-5).

In the 11th game, Alcaraz still struggled, but after 4 successful break-point saves, he defended the game and took the lead 6-5. Djokovic quickly won the 12th game, pushing the match into a tie-break.

Just like in the second set, Djokovic played more consistently in the deciding game, losing a mini break but having two mini breaks, thereby winning 7-4 and ending the final match.
