Hop Tien commune preserves and promotes the cultural identity of the Muong ethnic group.

Hop Tien Commune (Kim Boi) has nearly 1,260 households, over 5,700 people, 98% of the population are Muong ethnic people. Besides economic development, the commune pays special attention to preserving and promoting ethnic cultural identity.

The Muong Xom Trao Gong Club was established in June 2022 and has been operating regularly since September 2024, with 30 members, all of whom are female. The youngest member is 25 years old and the oldest is 65 years old. The club members are passionate about playing gongs and want to preserve the traditional cultural values ​​of the nation. The club initially encountered many difficulties, but with a passion for traditional culture, the members encouraged each other to overcome them.

Ms. Quach Thi Van, Vice President of the Muong Gong Club in Xom Trao, said: The establishment of the Club is of great significance. Through the Club, the cultural and artistic cores have the conditions to preserve and promote traditional cultural values, eliminate bad customs, push back social evils, and improve spiritual life. From there, it contributes to socio -economic development and ensures security and order in the locality. To overcome difficulties, the Club's Board of Directors calls for socialization so that the work of preserving and promoting the cultural identity of the Muong ethnic group can be effective.

To maintain its activities, the Club usually meets every Saturday and Sunday at the Trao hamlet cultural house, with many diverse activities. In addition, the commune also supports part of the cost for the Club to stage art performances when participating in festivals in and outside the district. Mobilizing resources to invest in building cultural institutions, purchasing equipment for hamlet cultural houses so that the Clubs have a place to practice and meet. With the motto of the State and the people working together, the work of preserving and promoting traditional cultural values ​​in the commune has made positive changes. Currently, the commune has 1 Muong gong team with 4 sets of gongs, 48 ​​gongs; 100% of the Club members have Muong ethnic costumes to perform on holidays and competitions.

Comrade Dinh Thi Huong, Chairwoman of the Women's Union of Hop Tien Commune, said: Every year, the Party Committee and the commune government direct and implement plans to preserve and promote the national cultural identity. Propaganda and mobilization work is promoted through conferences and meetings, integrated with movements and campaigns in residential areas. The commune also directs hamlets to establish traditional cultural and artistic clubs. With the participation of the entire political system, the cultural identity of the Muong ethnic group has been preserved and promoted.

In the coming time, the commune will continue to propagate and mobilize people, especially the young generation, to better understand the importance of preserving traditional values, as well as their responsibility for the "treasures" of their ancestors. Promote the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life"; encourage and motivate artisans to actively participate in teaching the younger generation. Thereby, contributing to preserving and promoting the cultural identity of the Muong ethnic group, promoting the socio-economic development of Hop Tien commune.
