According to the draw results, Hanoi Police Club is in Group E with Beijing Guoan (China), Macarthur (Australia) and Tai Po (Hong Kong). This is not an impossible group for Hanoi Police to win a ticket to the next round.
Beijing Guoan has won the AFC Champions League Elite (formerly the AFC Champions League) many times, but is no longer so strong. Meanwhile, Macarthur and Tai Po are considered to be on par with Hanoi Police.
Another representative of Vietnam, Nam Dinh, fell into group F with Gamba Osaka (Japan), Ratchaburi (Thailand) and Eastern (Hong Kong).
In this group, Gamba Osaka is too strong and will almost certainly win the ticket to continue. The remaining ticket will be the competition of Nam Dinh, Ratchaburi and Eastern.
AFC Champions League Two features 32 teams, divided into two zones, the west and the east. Each zone has 16 teams, with Vietnamese clubs competing in the east zone. The zones play in a group stage format, followed by quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals.
The Western champions then meet the Eastern champions in the Asian final. Last year, Nam Dinh were Vietnam’s sole representatives in the competition. The Southern team advanced through the group stage but were eliminated in the first knockout round.
Sharjah are the current champions of the tournament. AFC Champions Two takes place from 16-9-2025 to 16-5-2026.
