The roadmap for using E10 gasoline has just been regulated in Circular 50-2025 on biofuel blending ratio issued by the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
From June 1, 2026, unleaded gasoline according to current standards must be blended into E10 gasoline for use in gasoline engines nationwide. The blending of E5 RON92 gasoline will continue until December 31, 2030.
The Circular clearly states that during the implementation process, based on the socio- economic situation, techniques, technology, supply and demand and prices, the Minister of Industry and Trade may adjust the blending ratio or supplement the types of gasoline traded to ensure energy security, environmental protection and consumer rights.
During the time when it is not mandatory to use biodiesel B5 and B10 for diesel engines, the Circular encourages organizations and individuals to produce, mix, trade and use these two types of fuel.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade assigned the Department of Domestic Market Management and Development to coordinate with the Ministry of Finance to develop and propose tax and fee policies and financial support to promote the business and use of gasoline and biofuels. At the same time, it will guide the method of pricing, ensuring compliance with market principles and State management.
The roadmap for applying E10 gasoline is 6 months behind the plan previously proposed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Last August, the petroleum market management agency proposed that from January 1, 2026, all gasoline sold for gasoline-powered vehicles must be E10 gasoline.
