In recent times, Thai Binh Kindergarten (Chau Thanh District) has not only done well in child care andeducation activities but also paid attention to environmental protection with practical methods. In particular, the effective implementation of the waste classification model at source has received positive responses from teachers and parents.
To effectively implement the waste classification model at source, the school has developed an implementation plan that is close to the actual situation of the unit; fully equips trash cans in classrooms and schoolyard areas so that children can form the habit of throwing trash in the right place. The unit also reminds children not to waste food, starting to form a sense of saving.
In addition, the school also educates children about waste classification in class; guides children in simple and familiar ways of waste classification, and teaches them necessary life skills such as: neat eating habits, knowing how to protect the environment in the classroom, schoolyard and public places.
Ms. Ngo Thi Phuong - Principal of Thai Binh Kindergarten said that the waste classification model at source is not only an environmental protection activity but also an educational journey, raising awareness of environmental protection from an early age for preschool children, contributing to the formation of good personality and responsible living in later life.
For many years, Tay Ninh Vocational College has focused on building a green, clean, beautiful school, creating a fresh, nature-friendly space, bringing practical results, contributing to improving the quality of vocational education of the school. The school's board of directors has developed a plan suitable to the existing physical conditions. The unit has renovated the corridors and walkways in the school yard, planted many trees, arranged stone benches under the shade of trees, creating a comfortable space for students to read, relax, exchange learning experiences, and at the same time educate them about environmental protection.
Recognizing the harmful effects of used batteries on the environment, Tay Ninh Vocational College has been promoting the implementation of a used battery collection model, aiming for a green life; at the same time, mobilizing staff, teachers, students and pupils not to throw batteries away with regular waste.
To effectively implement the model, homeroom teachers have integrated environmental protection propaganda through lectures with pictures and videos, including dissemination of the harmful effects of batteries on public health so that students can understand the meaning of the model. Since then, all types of used batteries from electronic devices in the classroom have been collected by students, many even bringing broken batteries from home to return to the school. All used batteries are collected by the School Youth Union and brought to the unit organizing the activity in exchange for trees to plant.
Tran Quoc Bao (born in 2004), a student of the Automotive Technology College, Tay Ninh Vocational College, said: “The used battery collection model launched by the school’s Youth Union has been actively responded to and enthusiastically participated by the members and youth. Although these activities are small, they have practical significance, raising awareness of environmental protection anytime, anywhere.”
During the learning process at school, in addition to theoretical and practical lessons at the workshop, students also participate in activities such as planting and caring for flowers and trees around the school campus, collecting waste... The school's Youth Union also coordinates with the Trade Union to organize propaganda on basic knowledge about environmental protection, helping students become increasingly aware of building a green, clean, beautiful and friendly environment.
