Xiaomi 15 Series to Launch on October 29

Instead of using the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip as previously rumored, the Xiaomi 15 series will use the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. This change is similar to the naming of Qualcomm's Snapdragon X Elite processor on Windows laptops.

After Qualcomm launched the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, Android manufacturers quickly lined up to launch their most powerful devices. And Xiaomi has confirmed the launch of the Xiaomi 15 series on the 29th.

Accordingly, Xiaomi will introduce the Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro duo first, while the highest-end Ultra model of the product line will appear later, possibly in the first quarter of 2025. At the event, Xiaomi is also expected to introduce the HyperOS 2.0 user interface based on the Android 15 operating system and launch the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra.

According to leaks, the standard Xiaomi 15 has a compact design, a flat 6.36-inch AMOLED screen, while the Pro version will have a larger 6.78-inch curved screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and advanced features like Dolby Vision.

The Xiaomi 15 series phones are rumored to come with a 50MP resolution camera and a super large sensor combined with a 50MP telephoto periscope zoom camera for up to 3x zoom.

Previous reports have revealed that both the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro will be IP69 dust and water resistant. The device will have 90W fast charging along with the HyperOS 2.0 user interface based on Android 15 operating system and an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner under the screen. In addition, the device will be powered by a 6,000 mAh battery.
