The trend of reading books for healing and self-development is increasing rapidly.

According to the online reading platform Waka.vn, the number of people looking to read books on the topics of healing, emotional management, and self-development has increased by more than 30% compared to the same period in 2024.

Notably, not only young people but also readers aged 35-50 tend to read more books on psychology and life skills. In the middle of the year, when the school year is approaching, the number of searches for books on study skills and time management also increases sharply. This shows that readers increasingly consider books as a tool to support their psychology and actions, not just for entertainment or knowledge acquisition.

In response to that need, online reading platforms are personalizing the experience by categorizing books according to needs, suggesting categories at specific times, organizing reading challenges or sharing inspiration.

The trend of finding healing books to read is growing rapidly.

The total number of reads of books in this group also increased by more than 20% compared to the previous quarter. “We don’t expect readers to change anything big. Just feeling a little lighter after reading a book, understanding themselves a little better, that’s enough,” said a representative of Waka.vn.

In a world of so much turmoil, reading seems to be making a comeback as a “healing medicine”, helping people recover and continue their journey.
