Xuan Son signs 'record-long' contract with Nam Dinh

Nam Dinh Green Steel Club has just announced that it has reached an agreement to extend long-term contracts with a series of players: Nguyen Xuan Son, Tran Nguyen Manh, Duong Thanh Hao, Nguyen Van Vi, Caio Cesar, Lucas Alves, Nguyen Phong Hong Duy, Ly Cong Hoang Anh, Tran Van Dat, Tran Van Kien, Le Vu Phong, Tran Liem Dieu and Nguyen Dinh Son.

The 4 players who signed a 4-year contract with Nam Dinh include: Thanh Hao, Van Vi, Hoang Anh, Van Dat. Meanwhile, goalkeeper Nguyen Manh and players Caio Cesar, Hong Duy, Vu Phong, Liem Dieu and Dinh Son will continue with Nam Dinh until 2028. Defender Tran Van Kien extended his contract with Nam Dinh for 2 years. Meanwhile, foreign player Lucas Alves will play for another season with Nam Dinh.

The contract extension with Xuan Son lasts for 6 years (2031). This can be considered a contract that will almost be associated with Xuan Son's entire playing career with the club at Thien Truong Stadium.

Nguyen Xuan Son is one of the key players of the Vietnamese team at the AFF Cup 2024. In the second leg final match against Thailand, he was seriously injured and was taken by ambulance to a hospital in Bangkok. Examination and X-ray results confirmed that Son had broken his fibula and tibia in his right leg. Although he had to leave the field early, Xuan Son's spirit and efforts urged his teammates to persevere in their efforts to win the final against their "arch-rival" Thailand, thereby winning the regional championship for the third time.
