A scam to book airline tickets via social networks has appeared in Nha Trang.

A Facebook fanpage that advertises cheap flight tickets in Nha Trang cheats tourists out of their money.

On July 30, Mr. LHL (residing in Nam Nha Trang ward, Khanh Hoa ) reported being scammed when booking airline tickets via Facebook.

Accordingly, a Facebook account named "Hunting for cheap airline tickets" introduces itself as belonging to Huynh Sang Air Ticket Company Limited, located at 14 Vinh Diem Thuong (West Nha Trang ward) and introduces cheap airline ticket booking services for many tours .

This Facebook page provides phone number 0332332322 and bank account named "MB Huynh Sang Ticket Company Limited", account number 020789360001.

The above Facebook account also introduces itself as an official authorized agent of airlines in Korea, Japan, the US, and Singapore.

After contacting, Mr. L. transferred 3 million VND to buy a plane ticket. However, he did not receive the ticket and was also blocked from contacting the above Facebook page.

The Cyber ​​Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention Department of Khanh Hoa Provincial Police has received Mr. L.'s complaint and has transferred the case to Nam Nha Trang Ward Police for further verification and handling in accordance with the law.

Speaking with Tuoi Tre Online on the afternoon of July 30, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Anh Minh - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Tay Nha Trang Ward - confirmed that the address listed on Facebook above is not real.

He said that currently in the ward there is only Vinh Diem Thuong residential group, formerly Vinh Diem Thuong village of Vinh Hiep commune (old), there is no street named Vinh Diem Thuong.

"Even on websites introducing airline tickets or tours with blue ticks, tourists need to research carefully if they don't know any information about these services, especially when they see airline tickets being introduced at a lower price than the airlines, they need to be cautious," Mr. Nguyen warned.

For tourists traveling individually or with family, it is necessary to contact to book tickets on the official websites or fanpages of popular airlines or intermediary channels such as Traveloka, Booking, Agoda or at the agents of the airlines.

For group travelers, it is necessary to look for reputable travel companies that have tours that include air tickets or other services that will have better deals than booking individually.
