In his opening speech at the 75th FIFA Congress in Asunción, Paraguay, FIFA President Gianni Infantino announced that the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup – the first-ever tournament to feature 32 clubs and players from more than 90 countries – will be held in the United States from June 14 to July 13, 2025.
Gianni Infantino added that all revenue from the tournament will be reinvested in football, including $1 billion in prize money for participating teams and a $250 million solidarity fund for non-participating clubs.
This is to promote the development of football in an inclusive and fair manner. The FIFA President also pledged to fight racism in football, through the “Global Stand Against Racism” initiative.

Regarding the development of women's football, Ms. Jill Ellis - FIFA's Director of Football said that FIFA will invest heavily with the goal of generating revenue of 1 billion USD from the FIFA Women's World Cup, and at the same time expand the scale of competition from 32 to 48 teams from 2031, "opening up dreams for young female players around the world ".
FIFA will also introduce two new tournaments: the FIFA Women's Club World Cup (starting in 2028) and the FIFA Women's Champions Cup (starting in 2026).

The 2026-2029 women's international competition schedule will see youth and women's futsal tournaments broadcast on Netflix for the first time, after FIFA and Netflix reached a commercial agreement for the tournament.
Attending the 75th FIFA Congress, with the participation of representatives from 211 FIFA member federations around the world. The VFF delegation led by President Tran Quoc Tuan actively attended meetings, met and exchanged experiences with representatives of international football federations.
