The daughter-in-law showed the camera footage to her husband and decided to explain it to the old lady.
Nowadays, many families, especially those with small children or elderly grandparents, often install cameras for easy observation and management. Ms. Tu Anh (45 years old, in Henan , China) is no exception.
She said that recently her mother-in-law - Mrs. Hang (78 years old) went to the doctor for her high blood sugar and signs of memory loss, so she needed more attention and care from her family.
So, to ensure better care for my mother, I hired a maid, and most importantly, to closely monitor her diet. “The doctor told me very carefully that because of her condition, she absolutely should not eat sweets or drink soft drinks, but my mother really likes to eat candy, especially peanut candy.
Although she is old, she still moves quite well, so in the past she often went downstairs to buy candy, then hid it and ate it. Perhaps that is why her condition became more serious. Because I hired someone to make a special diet for her, carefully instructed her, and did not dare leave candy in the house," Ms. Tu Anh confided.
Everything seemed to be under control, because after returning from the doctor and hearing that her condition was showing signs of worsening, she became more worried. However, in the past few weeks, Tu Anh occasionally heard the sound of objects breaking or rattling in the next room, sometimes in the living room, but because she thought the noise was coming from the cat in the house and would only last a few minutes, she didn't pay much attention.

Until one day, when taking her grandmother for a check-up, Tu Anh received another warning from the doctor. At this time, she was extremely worried and troubled. When she got home, she decided to check the camera late at night and discovered that at 2am when the whole family was fast asleep, the 78-year-old woman sneaked out of the room and went out to find a hidden candy package to eat.
“I was so surprised that I had to watch it over and over again to understand what was happening and what my mother was doing. In the days before that, every few days she would sneak out to the living room to look for that candy.
I feel sorry for my mother, but also want to blame her. There was a time when my mother was very passionate about eating sweets, from candy, cakes to drinks, everything had to be extremely sweet, maybe that's why she got sick like today. In recent years, because of the doctor's warning, the pain from the disease and the children's advice, it has lessened," Ms. Tu Anh added.

She showed the clip to her husband and decided to explain it clearly to her mother. However, the old woman's reaction was even more surprising. According to the report, at first, before showing her the video and asking her, Mrs. Hang still denied it, saying that her two children were deliberately making up stories and controlling her too much.
“When I saw the clip from the camera, my mother admitted that it was me. She said she only ate a small piece but she was afraid that her children would worry so she did so and thought it wouldn’t affect her health much. She thought her children were worrying too much and controlling her,” Ms. Tu Anh recalled.
She also said that there were nights when she did not go out to eat candy but to pour water to drink or did not remember what she was doing because she was absent-minded. Hearing her mother-in-law share this, Tu Anh was very worried, even scared. After this incident, she and her husband discussed hiring a maid to stay with the family to sleep in the same room with her every night and watch over her.
After being shared on social network Douyin, Tu Anh's post and clip immediately received many views and comments from netizens. Many people also gave compliments to the daughter-in-law, a normal share but showing the child's care, love and understanding for her mother.
Many people also shared that they had been in a similar situation to Ms. Tu Anh, and gave her advice. Because, old men and women are often quite difficult and a bit conservative.
"The daughter-in-law is so caring, she takes good care of the old lady", "My wife is like that too, she never listens to what I say", "Just speak gently and remind her more often but only gently", "I don't know if my husband is like that, he has to check the camera regularly when he comes home",... are some of the comments from netizens.
