12 teams participating in the final round of the Vietnam Youth Student Football Tournament 2023

After 65 qualifying matches in 5 regions nationwide, 11 teams (3 Northern teams, 2 Central teams, 1 team from the Central Highlands - South Central region, 1 Southwest team and 4 teams from Ho Chi Minh City) along with the host team Ton Duc Thang University will compete in the final round.

Accordingly, the 12 excellent student football teams that have just passed the qualifying round to reach the finals are divided into 3 groups (A, B, C). Each group will compete in a round robin to calculate ranking points. After the group stage, the 3 teams ranked first and second in each group will join the 2 third-placed teams with the best results to play in the quarter-finals. From the quarter-finals, there will be no draws and the two teams will take 11m penalty kicks if they are tied after 80 minutes of play.

At the final round, the 12 best representatives of the country entered 3 very balanced groups. In which, it can be said that groups A and B are 2 "heavy" groups with the appearance of very strong teams. In group A, the host team Ton Duc University is still an unknown because it has not competed in the qualifying round. The host's opponents are Tay Nguyen University, Thuy Loi University and Van Lang University. Group B has the participation of Hue University, Hanoi University of Physical Education and Sports, Can Tho University and Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry. Group C is considered a "light" group with the participation of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education, Ho Chi Minh City University of Physical Education and Sports, University of Economics (Hue University) and National Economics University.

The organizers said the prizes include: Champion (VND300 million), Second Place (VND150 million), Third Place (VND80 million), Style Award (VND40 million), Excellent Supporters (VND100 million). In addition, there are individual prizes including Excellent Player (VND15 million), Top Scorer (VND10 million), Excellent Goalkeeper (VND10 million).

The Vietnam Youth Student Football Tournament is an interesting and useful playground for university and college students to help young people practice physical training, exchange and learn, and improve their knowledge of football competitions to further promote the development of school sports activities, thereby contributing to enriching, developing more strongly and comprehensively the grassroots football playground in the whole country.
