According to initial statistics, the whole province had 61 fishing boats sunk, 96 boats damaged and many motorboats, motorboats and rafts swept away.

Mr. Nguyen Huu Nghia, Head of the Fisheries Sub-Department, said: “Before, during and after the storm, the Sub-Department closely coordinated with localities to inform and guide fishermen to anchor their boats safely, reinforce cages and rafts, and harvest products early to limit damage. However, due to strong winds and high waves, many fishing boats were still sunk and severely damaged."
The damage was mainly concentrated in coastal communes and wards such as Quy Nhon, Nhon Dong, Cat Tien, De Gi, An Luong, Phu My Dong and Hoai Nhon Dong.
Storms and heavy rains also severely affected the aquaculture sector. The whole province had 308.6 hectares of brackish water farming area damaged, along with 36,750 m³ of marine fish cages (mainly sea bass, grouper, cobia, lobster), 10 tons of commercial shrimp and 6 high-tech shrimp ponds damaged and swept away by floodwaters.

Immediately after the storm, the Fisheries Department coordinated with localities to inspect and guide fishermen to repair boats, fix dams and cage systems, and treat the pond environment, collect dead fish, disinfect and provide technical support to soon restore production.
“The Department has sent a document requesting the Department of Agriculture and Environment to synthesize and report to the Provincial People's Committee to consider supporting people and ship owners who suffered heavy damage, and at the same time requesting relevant sectors to create favorable conditions for preferential loans, supply of materials and breeds to restore production,” said Mr. Nghia.
