3 new points of the amnesty on September 2nd

(QNgTV)- According to the Ministry of Public Security, the amnesty to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day, September 2, 2025, has many important new points, implemented according to the decision of the President and the guidance of the Amnesty Advisory Council. This is a policy that clearly demonstrates the humane and lenient policy of the Party and State towards those serving prison sentences, encouraging progressive reform and early reintegration into the community.

Prisoners are allowed to work and learn tailoring skills at Phu Hoa Prison.

Firstly, the criteria and conditions for consideration for amnesty have been expanded. Several groups of prisoners who were previously not eligible for amnesty under Decision 266 are now being considered, creating opportunities for many well-behaved prisoners to benefit from this policy.

Secondly, the classification of performance evaluations has been adjusted. The evaluation period for each type of offense has been extended compared to previous periods, encouraging inmates to actively train, work, and study to meet the eligibility criteria.

Thirdly, the criterion of "not negatively impacting security and order" is specifically defined and applied uniformly nationwide, serving as a basis for detention facilities and local police to evaluate, ensuring transparency and openness.

These new features contribute to improving the effectiveness of the amnesty process, ensuring compliance with regulations and targeting the right individuals, while affirming the profound humanitarian nature of the amnesty policy.
