3 specialized high schools in Ho Chi Minh City recruit students nationwide, register from today

From today, May 5, students across the country can register for the 10th grade entrance exam at 3 specialized high schools in Ho Chi Minh City: Le Hong Phong, Tran Dai Nghia and Nang Khieu High School.

According to regulations of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, students from other localities outside of Ho Chi Minh City who want to study at 2 specialized high schools in Ho Chi Minh City (Le Hong Phong, Tran Dai Nghia) can register for the 10th grade exam from 3:00 p.m. today, May 5 to 4:00 p.m. on May 9.

Admission requirements for Le Hong Phong and Tran Dai Nghia High Schools for the Gifted are as follows: Students graduating from junior high school in the 2024-2025 school year within the prescribed age; The results of the training and learning assessment for the entire school year of grades 6, 7, and 8 must be good or higher, and grade 9 must be excellent.

Candidates who wish to take the 10th grade entrance exam to the above two specialized schools must submit an application to take the exam at Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted.

The application includes: Application form; temporary graduation certificate; copy of secondary school transcript (notarized copy or copy signed and stamped by the school compared with the original, can be supplemented after passing the exam); certified copy of citizen identification card (personal identification code) (clearly take a photo of the QR code).

In addition, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City has notes for students when registering for admission to grade 10 majoring in English and IT.

Specifically, candidates register for the English major exam in one of the following two ways:

English : Candidates take 1 English exam.

English Major (according to Project 5695 ): Candidates take 1 English major exam according to Project 5695 including English, math, and science in English. Candidates who have studied the English program according to Project 5695 at secondary school level are encouraged to register.

Candidates who register for the specialized IT exam are allowed to choose the 10th grade exam as the specialized IT subject (students write in Pascal or C/C++) or choose the specialized math subject. In case the candidate does not choose the specialized subject exam, the Department of Education and Training will consider the candidate as registering for the specialized IT subject exam.

Also starting today, the Gifted High School (Ho Chi Minh City National University) opens the registration portal for 10th grade admission for the 2025-2026 school year. Candidates can register for the exam from 8:00 a.m. on May 5 to 5:00 p.m. on May 11. Admission requirements: Students with good conduct and academic performance for the entire school year of junior high school classes; with good graduation from junior high school.
