With the theme "Promoting Innovation: Enhancing Teaching and Learning Capacity through AI", the forum is an important milestone in the implementation of the National Plan 2025 recently approved by the Ministry of Education and Training , aiming to enhance digital capacity and AI application for teachers and education managers, with the participation of policy makers, teachers, technology innovation experts and development partners to share experiences, solutions and initiatives in applying AI in education.
The forum also aims to respond to Resolution 57 dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation , which prioritizes the development of science , technology, innovation and high-quality human resources to promote the national growth target of at least 8% by 2025, making Vietnam a high-income country by 2045, with a vision to 2050.
Speaking at the opening of the forum, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Pham Ngoc Thuong said that we should use AI in a very proactive, independent and intelligent way, without dependence and responsibly.
“Through the training process, the Ministry of Education and Training will coordinate with UNICEF and other units and organizations to continue developing topics to implement the AI Strategy in education,” Deputy Minister Pham Ngoc Thuong emphasized.

This plan provides a strategic and comprehensive roadmap for building the capacity of teachers and school leaders in integrating AI into teaching and school management.
The plan also includes initiatives such as organizing a national festival to honor outstanding teachers in innovation and promote typical models in digital transformation.
At the forum, UNICEF Representative in Viet Nam, Ms. Silvia Danailov said: "UNICEF is committed to ensuring that artificial intelligence is used ethically, responsibly and inclusively with a focus on equity, child protection and digital health. Together, we can build an education system where every teacher is empowered, every student is prepared, and no child is left behind."
At the same time, through extensive partnerships with educational technology organizations such as STEAM for Viet Nam and educational development cooperation organizations, UNICEF is supporting Vietnam to reshape education through innovation...
Co-founder and Country Director of STEAM for Viet Nam, Ms. Tran To Uyen, shared: “Artificial intelligence is not only a support tool, but also the key to unlocking the potential of every Vietnamese teacher. The successful pilot in Dien Bien - the first locality in the world to popularize AI for 100% of teachers in the whole province completely free of charge - has proven that, regardless of geography or social conditions, teachers can master technology and spread it to millions of students."
STEAM for Viet Nam is committed to continuing to work with the Ministry of Education and Training, UNICEF Vietnam and partners to replicate this model, aiming to popularize AI for all teachers across the country.
