Ted Aroi is a Taiwanese food YouTuber with a YouTube channel of more than 14,000 followers. He regularly releases videos reviewing dishes from different countries, which attract a lot of attention.
During his recent short trip to Hanoi, he embarked on a journey to explore pho restaurants, ranging from small restaurants deep in narrow alleys, which are only familiar to locals, to famous addresses that have been honored in the Michelin list.

Sharing on his channel, Ted said he chose 10 pho restaurants, not randomly but based on positive reviews from many international tourists on Google.
Thanks to this reference source, he has the opportunity to enjoy pho with many different flavors, from popular to high-end, and at the same time record his journey of discovery to share with the global food- loving community.
He visited Pho 10 Ly Quoc Su (Ly Quoc Su street), Pho Thin Bo Ho (Dinh Tien Hoang street), Pho Ong Vui (Hang Giay street), Pho Bo Goc Gao (Ngoc Ha street), Pho Suong (Trung Yen alley), Pho Khoi Hoi (Hang Vai street), Pho Gia Truyen Bat Dan (Bat Dan street), Pho Gai Co Thoa (Hang Chieu street), Pho Manh Cuong (Hang Muoi street), Pho Ly Beo (Hang Non street).
Each location gives him a unique experience, contributing to clearly portraying the rich and diverse picture of Hanoi pho.

To be fair, at each restaurant, Ted ordered a bowl of mixed pho with different types of beef. The price range of 50,000-105,000 VND/bowl is considered quite common in Hanoi.
According to him, each restaurant has its own flavor and unique features. Not only did Ted taste it carefully, he also practiced enjoying pho like a local: Squeezing lemon, adding fresh chili, adding garlic vinegar... He believes that these simple spices fully bring out the flavor, making the bowl of pho more flavorful.
After experiencing all 10 pho restaurants, Ted chose 3 places that left the strongest impression according to his personal feelings. Among them, the special pho at Goc Gao restaurant was ranked at the top of the list, because of the harmony in the broth and the quality of the beef.

He praised the pho here, which served a full range of meats such as beef stew, rare, well-done, flank, brisket... but at a cheap price, a mixed bowl cost only 50,000 VND. In addition, the broth was rich and thick, the pho noodles were soft, absorbing all the flavors from the beef and broth.
The customer also added that Pho Goc Gao restaurant is not located in the Old Quarter area, so the price is "softer" than many other famous places, and at the same time gives him the feeling of enjoying pho in a real, everyday way, close to a native Hanoian.
Besides Pho Goc Gao, two other places that Ted also praised were Pho Suong and Pho Thin Bo Ho. According to him, Pho Suong has a taste quite similar to Pho 10 Ly Quoc Su, but still retains its own unique characteristics.
He added that the restaurant is not too crowded, creating a comfortable feeling for diners to enjoy.

With Pho Thin Bo Ho, Ted commented that the food was very suitable for his personal taste. The bowl of pho here is served quite "generously" with a large bowl, full of beef and accompanied by green chopped green onions.
He rated the price of 100,000 VND/bowl as completely worthy of the quality, because the broth was naturally sweet, the beef was fresh and varied. Among them, Ted was most impressed with the thinly sliced cooked beef, which was soft, rich in flavor and kept its freshness.
