The Organizing Committee's assessment shows that most of the entries deeply reflect the transition process from traditional agricultural production to a typical multi-value economic model, green agriculture, and circular economy.

There have been many excellent works focusing on writing and reflecting on the model of the new, civilized, modern farmer, portraits of outstanding, inspirational Vietnamese farmers. There have also been a series of articles expressing the concerns of journalists about the conflicting issues that are arising in the new context of the current agricultural sector.

Besides those bright spots, journalists also show their dedication, not afraid of hardships and dangers to carry out exclusive "heavyweight" investigative series, determined to shed light on the hidden corners and "dark sides" that exist in the fields of agriculture, farmers, and rural areas.

Journalist Nguyen Van Hoai - Editor-in-Chief of Nong Thon Ngay Nay/Dan Viet Newspaper, Head of the Organizing Committee of the National Press Award on Agriculture, Farmers, and Rural Areas of Vietnam - affirmed: “This is the third consecutive year we have organized the Award and received the response of hundreds of press agencies sending entries, which proves that agriculture is always a fertile land for reporters, journalists, and press agencies to exploit. In particular, through the entries, a very new and modern image of farmers has been drawn with many billionaire farmers and inventive farmers. With the theme of rural areas, through the entries, it can be seen that the picture of rural areas is changing strongly, from building new rural areas to advanced, exemplary new rural areas and there are more and more livable villages appearing.”

Writing contest to learn about the 95-year tradition of the Vietnam Farmers' Association

This year, the National Press Award on Agriculture, Farmers and Rural Areas of Vietnam has a new category: "Writing Contest to Learn About the 95th Anniversary of the Vietnam Farmers' Association" - on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Farmers' Association (1930-2025).

The writing contest was launched on April 14 and ended on November 15. The Organizing Committee and the Jury have evaluated, met and reached a consensus on 11 most deserving works to award prizes. Among them are 1 A prize, 2 B prizes, 3 C prizes and 5 Encouragement prizes.

The main content of the written works is to vividly depict the historical milestones of the Vietnam Farmers' Union through the revolutionary stages; the great achievements of historical significance of the peasant class and the Farmers' Union organization under the leadership of the Party; the precious traditions and lessons learned from all levels of the Vietnam Farmers' Union throughout its 95-year history.

In particular, a large proportion of works and articles on the Association's activities and outstanding emulation movements in nearly 40 years of implementing the country's renovation under the Party's leadership; affirming the trust of cadres, members and farmers in the Party and the country's renovation; and international integration.

Many articles evoke heroic memories of the Vietnam Farmers' Association before the August Revolution in 1945; the period of resistance against the French; memories of the Farmers' Association for the Liberation of South Vietnam; Farmers' Association for the Liberation of Zone 5 (Central Highlands)...

Along with that are works showing the pioneering and leading spirit of members, farmers, and the Farmers' Association in effectively participating in the work of hunger eradication and poverty reduction in the early period of national reunification after 1975; the pre-renovation period and the renovation period after 1986 until now.

Notably, a number of works have expressed perspectives, expressed optimism, and contributed opinions on innovating the content and methods of operation of the Vietnam Farmers' Union when it becomes a socio-political organization under the Vietnam Fatherland Front; in the context of the Party and State implementing breakthrough policies, including the arrangement and streamlining of the apparatus, effectiveness and efficiency; arrangement of commune-level administrative units, abolishing the district level, merging and consolidating from 63 provinces/cities to 34 provinces/cities...

Thus, combining both activities, the National Press Award on Agriculture, Farmers, and Rural Areas and the Writing Contest to Learn About the 95-Year Tradition of the Vietnam Farmers' Association, there will be about 45 awards to be honored on the evening of December 5.

According to the Organizing Committee, the total prize of all 3 categories and genres of the National Press Award on Agriculture, Farmers, and Rural Areas in 2025 and the Writing Contest to learn about the 95-year tradition of the Vietnam Farmers' Association is 515 million VND./.
