Day 1 - Travel and play Dragon Festival
To travel to Ha Long, visitors will not have difficulty finding convenient and cost-effective means of transport. The transport infrastructure in Ha Long in particular and Quang Ninh in general is very developed. The most ideal route for visitors from the North is the Hanoi - Hai Phong and Hai Phong - Ha Long expressways. Travel time is about 2.5 to 3 hours. If departing from Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang, visitors can take a flight directly to Quang Ninh, then travel by road from the airport to Ha Long City, about 50 km. There is a convenient bus from the airport directly to the city center.
If you arrive early, you can start your first day off with a "full" breakfast with Ba Ngan's or Goc Cay Bang's rice rolls with squid; Dong Bac mantis shrimp vermicelli, Ms. Hang's porridge... Dishes only range from 30,000 - 55,000 VND/portion.
For families with children going out this holiday, Sun World Ha Long is a place not to be missed. In particular, from April 27 to May 1, throughout the holiday, the largest amusement park in the North will host the Dragon Festival on a grand scale. Many miniatures and a Dragon Garden will be elaborately built within the festival grounds, so that visitors will feel like they are adventuring into the magical world of legendary creatures.
For young visitors, the area where the Sun World Ha Long Lion and Dragon Competition Festival takes place, gathering the 10 strongest lion and dragon teams in Vietnam, or the Jurassic Park-like area of Dino Show will be especially "feverish" because of its uniqueness and eye-catching. In addition, visitors to the festival this time will also witness international artists in colorful costumes performing attractive Malambo dances or special stilt performances. Vietnamese artists will also participate in the festival with traditional musical instrument performances on Dragon Boats - Tropical Cruises.
In the afternoon, take the Queen Cable Car across the heritage bay, admire the panoramic view of Ha Long from above, and explore the Sun Hill. These are must-try experiences. In addition to the familiar Japanese Garden and Koi Bridge, visitors coming here on holidays will experience many new products in the Mysterious Castle area such as Fun Fest Game, DIY Zone - a paradise for those who love creativity. The "Sword Forging Village" area is also supplemented with a series of interesting Japanese-style activities such as trying out archery skills, Ninja skills, Irezumi tattoo experience, making Watame cotton candy or splitting Katanuki candy...
Visitors can buy single tickets or combo tickets when coming to Sun World Ha Long. On the occasion of the April 30 holiday, the tourist area offers visitors many "super cheap" combos such as Combo 2in1, 3in1 or Combo with buffet with prices ranging from 500,000 VND to 750,000 VND/person.
In the evening, to fill your hungry stomach after a long day of fun, visitors can enjoy seafood at Hong Hanh, Phuong Nam, Cua Vang restaurants... or visit Gieng Don food street, Phu Lam restaurant near Cienco 5 fishing village... These are all culinary addresses loved by locals and tourists.
Day 2 - Play at the water park, eat squid rolls and watch the drone show at Ha Long Carnival
On the morning of the second day, if you buy the 3in1 combo of Sun World Ha Long, you can continue to have fun at the Tornado Water Park. This is an ideal place for families who are afraid of the crowds in the public beach area and want to easily watch their children playing. The park also has 12 water games and 29 attractive slides for all ages, so it is considered a "reputable" address to cool off on summer days.
In the afternoon, visitors can visit the Beer and Squid Cake Festival - one of the outstanding cultural, artistic, sports and tourism activities organized by Ha Long to celebrate the April 30 holiday. The festival lasts for 5 days from April 27 to May 1 at the Ocean Park Old Quarter, near Ha Long Street (Bai Chay Ward). In addition to enjoying the famous specialties of the coastal city, visitors will witness the record-setting "Largest Squid Cake in Vietnam", scheduled to take place from 2-5 pm.
The evening is the ideal time to snack to “forget your sorrows”. If you have never tried the famous pearl yogurt, you will not be “recognized” as having been to Ha Long. The price of each cup ranges from only 15,000 to 30,000 VND. Visitors can try this snack at two places recommended by many locals: Co Nghi or Tuan Lien or many other places in the city.
It is expected that at 8:10 p.m. on April 28, Ha Long will organize the first Carnaval on the sea in Vietnam at the Ocean Park beach (Vo Nguyen Giap Street, Bai Chay Ward, Ha Long). Tourists should choose the right day to experience the unique annual festival of the heritage city. This year, the Ha Long Carnaval Festival has the theme 'Light up with Wonders' with the highlight being the live performance and the first festival on the sea in Vietnam.
The performance stage will be a harmonious combination of both onshore and offshore parts, with hundreds of ships and boats mobilized to participate. The most special is the Drone light performance, combining modern 3D mapping technology to depict the typical symbols of Ha Long. The event promises to kick off an exciting summer for tourism in Ha Long in particular and Quang Ninh in general.
