In the period of 2021 - 2025, the City's Elderly Association at all levels has established 5 LTHTGN Clubs, with 270 voluntary members, including 190 elderly people and the rest are young people. Up to now, the city has maintained the activities of 8 LTHTGN Clubs with the participation of more than 400 members. Over the past 5 years, the Clubs have operated in many fields, from health care, income generation, community support, to rights protection, communication to raise awareness, organizing cultural - artistic activities, physical training - sports, resource mobilization and home care. In particular, the Clubs have promoted their role in supporting and helping each other to develop the economy , increase income through self-contributed funds, labor days, and seedlings. Currently, the city has 4 clubs with funds of over 50 million VND, creating conditions for 25 members to borrow capital from 5-15 million VND. Thanks to that, the lives of the elderly, especially those in difficult circumstances, have been significantly improved...

Comrade Vu The Khien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial Elderly Association spoke at the Conference.

At the Conference, delegates pointed out the difficulties and shortcomings in the past time. At the same time, they agreed on the direction for the coming time: continue to consolidate and improve the quality of activities of existing clubs. Strive to achieve the goal by 2030: 100% of wards have at least 3 qualified clubs, 90% of clubs have 8 regular monthly activities, 100% of clubs have an income increase fund of 50 million VND or more...

Speaking at the Conference, comrades Vu The Khien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial Association of the Elderly; Tran Dinh Tien - Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee praised the results that the LTHTGN Clubs have achieved in the past time. Affirming that these results help the elderly "live happily - live healthily - live usefully", contributing to improving income, taking care of the health of the elderly, strengthening community cohesion, creating solidarity between generations - a beautiful tradition that needs to be preserved and promoted, creating an environment of strong connection between generations.

To promote the tradition of “Old age - Bright example”, the comrades suggested: in the coming time, the City Elderly Association should continue to do a good job of advising and proposing to the Party Committees and authorities at all levels to build, maintain and expand the model of the LTHTGN Club. Enhance the role of the Elderly Association in directing, guiding, inspecting and supervising the activities of the Clubs.
