(GLO)- From April 9 to 12, in Pleiku City, Gia Lai Province Center for Disease Control organized a training course on implementing hypertension prevention and control activities for specialized medical staff at the commune level.
Accordingly, 55 medical staff from 55 commune, ward and town health stations were selected to examine, investigate and detect high blood pressure early and were trained.

During the training, the trainees were informed by lecturers from the Provincial Center for Disease Control about the current situation of hypertension in the world , in Vietnam and Gia Lai province; guided to develop a plan to organize and implement hypertension prevention and control activities at grassroots health facilities in the coming time; guided to develop a plan to implement integrated screening activities for hypertension, diabetes, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and bronchial asthma; guided to organize and implement a screening point; diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with hypertension at grassroots health facilities; appropriate nutrition and exercise regimens for patients with hypertension, etc.
In addition, students will practice examining, diagnosing, and prescribing hypertension at primary health care facilities; be instructed on the content of payment settlement for activities of the hypertension prevention and control program; enter reporting data on the non-communicable disease reporting software; discuss the assignment of tasks, resolve problems and difficulties, and some solutions to enhance the capacity of the non-communicable disease prevention and control system at primary health care facilities; practice weighing, measuring indicators, measuring blood pressure, etc.
Through the training, trainees will gain more knowledge and experience, thereby effectively implementing the work of preventing and controlling high blood pressure right from the grassroots health care level in the province.
