6/6 Vietnamese students won medals at the Asian Informatics Olympiad

Specifically, there were 4 candidates winning silver medals and 2 candidates winning bronze medals.

4 silver medals went to Nguyen Duc Thang, 11th grade student, Hung Vuong High School for the Gifted, Phu Tho; the remaining 3 silver medals went to students from the High School for the Gifted in Natural Sciences , University of Natural Sciences, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, including Nguyen Ngoc Dang Khoa, 12th grade student, Pham Cong Minh, 11th grade student, Tran Xuan Bach, 12th grade student.

6 candidates of the Vietnamese national team won medals at the 2023 Asia- Pacific Informatics Olympiad

Two bronze medals went to students: Le Ngoc Bao Anh, grade 12 student, Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted, Da Nang and Tran Vinh Khanh, grade 12 student, Quang Tri Town High School, Quang Tri.

The 2023 Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad will be held online with 1,471 contestants from 36 countries and territories participating (including 3 countries: Canada, Mexico, and Brazil, which were invited to participate but were not considered for prizes); China is the host country.

The Vietnamese national team, consisting of 15 contestants, competed online at the University of Technology, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, on May 20. According to the regulations of the Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad organizing committee, Vietnam was selected to select 6 contestants with the highest scores to participate in the award consideration.

All 6 contestants won medals, accounting for 100% of the total, Vietnam ranked 9th overall. The Ministry of Education and Training believes that this result affirms the quality of general education and the right direction in the work of discovering, selecting and nurturing excellent students.
