60 retarded teenagers participate in "Experience to grow up" at Nghia An Prison

This morning, December 28, at Cam Chinh commune, Cam Lo district, the Provincial Youth Union - Vietnam Youth Union of Quang Tri province coordinated with Nghia An Prison to organize the program "Experience to grow up" in 2024.

At the program, 60 slow-learning teenagers who are students of Le The Hieu High School (Cam Lo district) and Dakrong High School (Dakrong district) were taken by officers and soldiers of Nghia An Prison to production areas, accommodation and daily activities of prisoners.

Through real-life observations, students will experience and witness firsthand the living environment, the limitations and losses that prisoners face. In addition, students will interact and share stories about the reasons for committing crimes, the consequences and the will to rise from the mistakes of prisoners.

Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, Chairman of the Vietnam Youth Union of Quang Tri province Nguyen Quoc Toan said that the program "Experience to grow up" is organized to help young people in general and a backward group in particular better understand life in prison so that they can have a realistic view of the consequences of illegal acts and mistakes if they commit them.

At the same time, help children better understand the law, discipline and the importance of living properly and thinking about the future. Through the experience program, children will better understand the value of freedom, family love and responsibility to society.

On this occasion, to encourage prisoners to make efforts in the training and reformation process, the Provincial Youth Union and the Vietnam Youth Union of the province presented 10 gifts to prisoners with good reformation progress.
