In the first 7 months of 2025, total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue increased by 9.3% over the same period last year, of which retail sales of goods increased by 7.8% over the same period last year.

News from the General Statistics Office (GSO) today said that trade and tourism activities maintained positive growth, with total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue at current prices in July estimated at VND576.4 trillion, up 1.1% over the previous month and up 9.2% over the same period last year.

Of which, revenue from food and foodstuff groups increased by 9.9% over the same period last year; garments increased by 7.9%; household appliances, tools and equipment increased by 7.1%; accommodation and catering services increased by 16.3% and tourism and travel increased by 12.6%.

In the first 7 months of 2025, the total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue at current prices is estimated at VND 3,993.4 trillion, up 9.3% over the same period last year (up 8.9% in the same period in 2024), if excluding price factors, it increased by 7.1% (up 6.2% in the same period in 2024).

Retail sales of goods in the first 7 months of 2025 alone are estimated at VND3,049.6 trillion, accounting for 76.4% of the total and increasing by 7.8% over the same period last year. Of which, the group of food, foodstuffs and cultural and educational items increased by 9.4%; garments increased by 6.4%; household appliances, tools and equipment increased by 5.5%.

Some localities with high retail sales of goods in the first seven months of 2025 compared to the same period last year are: Da Nang increased by 9.1%; Hai Phong increased by 8.4%; Ho Chi Minh City increased by 8.2%; Hanoi increased by 8%; Can Tho increased by 7.8%.
