Hanoi honors workers with creative initiatives

This is a practical activity to welcome the important political events of the Capital and the country, to welcome the success of the 18th Hanoi Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030, towards the 14th National Congress of Delegates, to welcome the 18th Hanoi Trade Union Congress, the Vietnam Trade Union Congress, term 2025 - 2030.

In 2025, the grassroots trade unions in Hanoi had 80,925 initiatives recognized at the grassroots level. From 682 initiatives and scientific topics selected and proposed from the grassroots level, the Emulation Council of the City Labor Federation selected and recognized 100 typical "Initiatives among workers and civil servants in the Capital" in 2025, and submitted to the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to award the Creative Labor Certificate to 11 individuals with typical initiatives.

Of the total 682 initiatives sent to the Hanoi City Labor Federation, 536 initiatives have a monetary value, with a profit of more than 363 billion VND. Many initiatives of workers that have been applied not only bring high economic efficiency, benefiting businesses hundreds of billions of VND each year, but many initiatives also have positive implications for social security, creating jobs for thousands of workers in the capital.

With these admirable results and achievements, the City Labor Federation issued Decision No. 2468/QD-LĐLĐ dated October 24, 2025 on awarding the Certificate of Title "Initiative and Creativity in Capital Workers" in 2025 to 100 individuals and accompanying a bonus of 2 million VND/individual.

2025 is the fourth time the Hanoi People's Committee and the Hanoi City Labor Federation have jointly organized the City-level Skilled Workers Competition, to honor highly skilled workers, talented workers, and creative workers; contributing to improving the quality of human resources, increasing labor productivity and competitiveness of the Capital and the Country in the integration process. Through the Competition, workers in units and enterprises in the area have the opportunity to exchange and learn experiences in labor and production, contributing to building a team of skilled technical workers with good ethics and industrial style, capable of meeting increasingly advanced and modern technology and production equipment, setting new records in labor productivity, progress, and product quality.

The contest took place over 2 days, October 25-26, with 11 competing professions, including: Universal lathe; Universal milling; CNC lathe; CNC milling; Electric welding; CO2 welding and Tig welding; Industrial electronics; Industrial electricity; Drawing and design on computers; Industrial sewing; Automotive technology.

The contest attracted the participation of 362 contestants from 60 enterprises. These are excellent contestants selected from the contests at the grassroots level. In which, the profession with the most contestants is Industrial Electricity with 67 contestants, Co2 welding and Tig welding with 63 contestants, Drawing and design on computer with 48 contestants, Electric welding with 34 contestants; CNC milling with 32 contestants; contestants from FDI enterprises accounted for 45%. The contestants participated in both theory and practice exams.

Based on the results, the Jury has proposed that the Organizing Committee of the Competition decide to award Certificates and prizes to 112 prize-winning contestants, including: 11 First Prizes, 22 Second Prizes, 33 Third Prizes, and 46 Encouragement Prizes. In particular, the First Prize winners of the 11 contest occupations, in addition to the prize money of 10 million VND, were also awarded Certificates of Merit by the Hanoi People's Committee.

Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, commended and highly appreciated the results achieved in emulation movements in general, initiative and creativity movements and the Skilled Worker Competitions of the Trade Union organization and the Capital's labor force in particular in recent times.

Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Ngo Duy Hieu highly appreciated the Hanoi City Confederation of Labor for regularly maintaining and organizing activities to honor excellent workers, commend initiatives and creativity, thereby promptly encouraging, motivating and creating momentum for the movement.

Directing the development direction of emulation movements in the coming time, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Ngo Duy Hieu emphasized the position of the capital Hanoi with a tradition of creative quintessence from thousands of years and is currently striving to become the center of innovation of the whole country. From there, Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu suggested that the Hanoi City Confederation of Labor continue to pay attention to maintaining and developing emulation movements in general, and the initiative and creativity movement in particular, so that the spirit of initiative and creativity spreads and permeates the lives of employees, becoming the culture of each enterprise, in which attention should be paid to promoting the movement in state-owned enterprises.

Considering that material benefits are the most specific and practical motivation to promote initiatives and creativity in each worker, Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu suggested that when negotiating, negotiating and signing Collective Labor Agreements, the Trade Union should include provisions on the enjoyment of benefits for those with initiatives and creativity commensurate with their contributions.

The Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor also hopes that the creative, innovative and skilled workers of the Capital will not be satisfied with what they have but will continue to strive, explore and have more useful initiatives and innovations to contribute to the growing development of agencies, units and enterprises, contributing to the development of the Capital and the country.
