71 Professor candidates and 829 Associate Professor candidates received enough votes of confidence from the State Council of Professors.

On the morning of November 3, the State Council of Professors announced that it had just held a meeting to discuss and vote on the results of the review of the Councils of Professors of various disciplines and interdisciplinary fields and the list of candidates eligible for recognition as meeting the standards for the titles of Professor and Associate Professor. As a result, 71 candidates for Professor and 829 candidates for Associate Professor received the required number of votes of confidence.

According to the report of the Office of the State Council of Professors, in 2025, 1,073 candidates (100 Professor candidates, 973 Associate Professor candidates) submitted applications for recognition of meeting the standards for the title of Professor and Associate Professor at 117 basic Councils of Professors.

After reviewing the application documents, evaluating foreign language proficiency, evaluating the overall scientific report and voting for confidence, 1,014 candidates (93 Professor candidates, 921 Associate Professor candidates) were proposed to be considered for recognition of meeting the standards at 28 Industry and Interdisciplinary Professor Councils.

The Industry and Interdisciplinary Professor Councils met to consider and recognize the qualifications for the title of Professor and Associate Professor in 2025 and the result: 911 candidates (73 Professor candidates, 938 Associate Professor candidates) were proposed to the State Professor Council for recognition.

After receiving the candidate profiles from the Industry and Interdisciplinary Councils of Professors, the Office of the State Council of Professors coordinated with the Standing Committees of the Industry and Interdisciplinary Councils of Professors to examine and review the evidence of all candidate profiles, and report to the Standing Committee of the State Council of Professors before submitting them to the State Council of Professors for consideration and recognition. The State Council of Professors publicly discussed each candidate profile, elected a vote counting committee and voted on the list of candidates eligible for recognition as meeting the standards for the title of Professor and Associate Professor.

As a result, 900 candidates received the required number of votes of confidence, including 71 Professor candidates and 829 Associate Professor candidates. The passing rate compared to the total number of candidates who submitted their initial applications to the basic Professorial Councils was 83.88% (of which the passing rate for Professor candidates was 71% and for Associate Professor candidates was 85.2%).

In his closing speech at the Minister of Education and Training's Meeting, Chairman of the State Council of Professors Nguyen Kim Son highly appreciated the serious work of the Councils of Professors at all levels and the supporting advisory units, ensuring accuracy, fairness, impartiality, objectivity and improving the quality of the work of examining Professors and Associate Professors in 2025; directed the Office of the State Council of Professors to continue to coordinate with functional units of the Ministry of Education and Training to urgently publicize the examination results according to regulations, and take the next steps to ensure the set goals and plans.
