To date, Dong Nai province has permitted the excavation of fill soil at eight locations to serve the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway and the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3. These locations are basically close to the contractors' construction sites for convenient transportation.
The People's Committee of Dong Nai province has just released statistics on the amount of earth used for embankment in key projects in the South, including Long Thanh airport, the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway, and the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3.
The fill soil from several units is expected to be delivered to the construction site next week to be used in the project.
According to data reported by investors and contractors, the three aforementioned projects require more than 5.24 million cubic meters of fill earth.
To date, the province has identified specific locations with a total exploitable volume of approximately 5.48 million m3, exceeding the demand by about 237,000 m3. A total of 8 locations for excavating leveling materials have been identified and licensed.
Among these, two locations were allocated under a special mechanism to the Central Vietnam Construction Group Joint Stock Company in Hamlet 6, Phuoc Binh Commune, Long Thanh District; and to Lizen Joint Stock Company, in the area for excavating leveling materials in Tam Phuoc Ward.
There are 5 licensed mining sites for Group IV minerals for Construction Corporation No. 1 - JSC, located in Long Giao town, Cam My district.
This unit was also allocated another location in the landfill material extraction area of Bau Can commune, Long Thanh district.
Hai Dang Joint Stock Company was granted a license to operate in the landfill material extraction area of Phuoc Tan ward, Bien Hoa city.
Central Vietnam Construction Group Joint Stock Company is operating in the landfill material extraction area of Phuoc Binh commune, Long Thanh district.
Finally, there is Cuong Thuan IDICO Investment and Development Joint Stock Company (package number 18, the same construction section as Truong Son) in the area for excavating leveling materials in Phuoc Tan ward, Bien Hoa city.
As for the Tam Phuoc - Phuoc Tan quarry cluster area, the soil used for embankment construction during stone mining will be reclaimed to serve the project.
A construction section is underway at the intersection of Bien Hoa and Long Thanh (Dong Nai).
According to the contractors, all procedural obstacles for excavating fill soil and rock have now been resolved.
The relevant units are finalizing the necessary procedures and expect the soil to be brought to the construction site starting next week to expedite the road embankment construction.
The Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway, passing through Dong Nai province, is over 34km long. Currently, only 25-35% of the work has been completed. The contractor is still facing difficulties with construction site access, although the earth embankment issues have been resolved.
As for the 11.2km stretch of Ring Road 3 in Ho Chi Minh City, the land has been handed over in sufficient quantities to meet construction needs, but there is still a shortage of sand. Long Thanh Airport, in particular, is lacking approximately 4.9 million cubic meters of crushed stone, and this shortage is currently being addressed.
