Bhnong cultural colors
Despite the scorching early summer sun, in the open space of the Bhnong Traditional Cultural Conservation Area in Kham Duc town, the M'nong people of Lao Mung and Lao Du villages (Phuoc Xuan commune) had a real festival to show off their traditional cultural colors.
From early morning, the Bhnong traditional cultural conservation area was bustling with the laughter of the people of the two cultural villages of Lao Mung and Lao Du. They gathered here to prepare for the competition day in the game show "My Hometown of Quang Nam". As the locality that will carry out the final program of the game show "My Hometown of Quang Nam" season 9 - 2025, Phuoc Xuan commune has made very careful preparations.
Phuoc Xuan commune is located next to Phuoc Son district center, traffic conditions, and communication are quite convenient to connect work contacts. Moreover, most of the people are Gie Trieng people, the traditional Bhnong cultural colors have been imbued in every word, speech, and community cultural activities for generations... so when starting to set up the game, it has a very sparkling and unique feature.
The Gie Trieng - Bhnong people in the cultural villages of Lao Mung and Lao Du have created and preserved their unique cultural features for generations. That cultural beauty was clearly demonstrated in the performances of the two teams Lao Mung & Lao Du in the game show "My Hometown of Quang Nam". These are traditional Bhnong - Gie Trieng costumes with their own unique features in terms of brocade materials, embroidery and patterns.
In the contest “Happy with farmers”, in the melody of traditional Bhnong folk songs praising the homeland of Phuoc Son which is changing day by day, the Bhnong - Gie Trieng boys and girls dressed up in beautiful clothes, swaying with each step to the music and lyrics…
Blending into the space filled with the traditional beauty of the Bhnong village house in the conservation area, blending into the morning sunshine spreading over the Phuoc Son forest, the music , dances and smiles, the eyes of the Bhnong - Gie Trieng boys and girls shine with the joy of the festival as if leaving behind the hardships of the fields.
The beauty of traditional culture of the Bhnong - Gie Trieng people is even more vividly displayed in the "Skillful hands and crafts" competition with the competition of wrapping "Banh Quat" - a traditional cake of the Gie Trieng - Bhnong people and the competition of pounding rice and sifting rice of Bhnong boys and girls. The beauty of traditional culture shines through the labor, in the skillful hands of the young girls wrapping each beautiful cake and the quick hands of the sifting rice... It is this beauty that has created the difference and strong attraction of the "My Hometown in Quang Nam" playground from the beginning until this 9th season.
Full of love for the countryside
During the busy days of ending district-level activities and merging commune-level administrative units, we were able to travel to the countryside of Quang Nam, witness the enthusiastic atmosphere, the spirit of solidarity, and joining hands to create a highly collective playground like "My Hometown in Quang Nam", we could not help but be moved.
Touched by the fact that despite being busy with many things, despite many people having concerns about going and staying, they still tried their best for the common work, creating a playground for local farmers. Without the drastic participation of local government leaders in the host places, perhaps in the current context, the implementation of a reality TV game show like “My Hometown in Quang Nam” would be difficult to become a reality.
Perhaps, the spread and appeal of a playground dedicated to farmers in the villages of Quang Nam during 9 seasons of implementation has left deep impressions on cultural values and evoked the spirit of solidarity in the community. Mr. Ho Cong Diem - Vice Chairman of Phuoc Son District People's Committee shared: "Phuoc Son has hosted this program before and the people really love it, really want to join in the festival atmosphere, compete in the familiar content of the playground. Therefore, there is no reason why we should not organize a game show so that the ethnic people in Phuoc Son have the opportunity to compete in their talents, so that traditional culture can be spread...".
Traveling to the countryside of Quang Nam such as Phu Thinh (Phu Ninh district), Que Tan (Hiep Duc district), Tam Phu (Tam Ky city) or Phuoc Xuan (Phuoc Son) these days, we are more deeply moved by the love of the people. They have temporarily put aside their farming, farming, and daily livelihood to join hands and contribute to each competition of each game show held locally.
Remembering the pouring rain in Que Tan (Hiep Duc), people were still quietly sitting counting the rain waiting for the rehearsal. In the pouring rain, the women and men of the Farmers' Association of the commune were not afraid of difficulties, still enthusiastically wading through the fields to pick each corn stalk, chop each sugarcane stalk to bring back to perform for the competition. Remembering the blazing sun on the yard of Nguyen Viet Xuan Primary School (Tam Phu commune) during the filming session, the backs of the actors and support team were all soaked with sweat but still shining with kind smiles. And how can we forget the youthful colors, the handsome faces of the young men and women in Phu Thinh in the competition "Having fun with farmers" which was very special in this locality...
Touched by the people of Quang, no matter what, the collective spirit, the diligence in life, in work, the love for the homeland and country are always in our hearts. That is the motivation for us - the program makers to have more ideas to continue the desire to create useful playgrounds for the people of our homeland.
