Speaking at the conference, Major General Hoang Huu Chien praised the achievements of the provincial Border Guard officers and soldiers in the past time. He requested that in the coming time, the Party Committee and the Provincial Border Guard Command proactively grasp, forecast, and accurately assess the situation, promptly advise the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee on policies and measures to lead and direct the implementation of the tasks of building and protecting the border, building a strong provincial Border Guard force, promptly handling situations on the border in accordance with policies and measures, avoiding being passive and surprised.

At the same time, preside over and coordinate with local forces and authorities to firmly manage and protect territorial sovereignty and national border security, maintain security, order and social safety in border areas and border gates according to the provisions of law. Implement border management and protection in accordance with the law, legal documents and agreements signed by the two countries of Vietnam and Cambodia. Promote professional measures, inspection, control and strict management of borders, border gates and areas. Proactively prevent, detect, combat and neutralize tricks and sabotage activities of hostile and reactionary forces; effectively combat all types of crimes and violations of the law on the border. Well implement border diplomacy, government diplomacy, people's diplomacy , build a peaceful, friendly, cooperative and developing border.

According to the People's Committee of An Giang province, in the period of 2019 - 2024, the People's Committee of the province regularly directed to improve the quality and effectiveness of the implementation of Directive No. 01/CT-TTg of the Prime Minister in conjunction with the implementation of Directive No. 09-CT/TW dated December 1, 2021 and Conclusion No. 44-KL/TW dated September 22, 2019 of the Secretariat on strengthening the Party's leadership over the movement "All people participate in protecting national security in the new situation"; effectively promoting collectives, households and individuals who register to participate in self-management of border lines, border markers, border works, and security and order self-management teams.

Over the past 5 years, the people have provided the provincial Border Guard with 3,197 pieces of information. Through this, advanced models and typical examples have been built to be replicated and developed in the following years, creating a solid foundation for building and consolidating the all-people border defense posture in the all-people national defense posture associated with a strong people's security posture in the border area.

The Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee coordinated with the Provincial Border Guard to maintain and implement the emulation movements "Skilled Mass Mobilization", "Skilled Mass Mobilization in Building New Rural Areas and Advanced New Rural Areas" with many contents towards the border. The Provincial Women's Union effectively coordinated to implement the Program "Accompanying Women in Border Areas". An Giang Provincial Youth Union promoted the movement "Youth Volunteers to Master the Border" with many practical contents and forms such as: exchanges, twinning, implementing "Youth Month", "March Border Month", "Summer Volunteer Campaign", "An Giang Youth Join Hands to Build New Rural Areas", implementing the Campaign "Sentimentality of Borders, Seas, Islands"... Thereby, it has created a great spreading power, calling for the joint efforts of all levels and sectors towards the border...

Implementing the Campaign "The whole country joins hands for the poor - No one is left behind", the movement "The whole country joins hands to build new countryside", associated with the implementation of programs, models, projects participating in economic - cultural - social development in the border areas of the province, the Provincial Border Guard Command has coordinated with departments, branches, sectors, unions, Party committees, local authorities, philanthropists inside and outside the province to regularly visit, encourage, and give material gifts to policy households, poor households, near-poor households, households in difficult circumstances, poor women's union members, poor but studious students in the border areas, with a total value of over 25.27 billion VND.

Departments, branches and organizations at all levels coordinate to effectively implement the Army's rear policy; actively mobilize officers, soldiers and people to contribute to the Fund "Repaying gratitude", "House of gratitude", "House of comrades", "House of great unity", "Border shelter", "Warm home for soldiers at the border". In addition, Border Guard stations have coordinated with local Party committees, authorities, departments, branches and organizations to effectively implement the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life", associated with building "Border cultural highlights"...

On this occasion, 135 individuals were awarded the "For the sovereignty and security of the Fatherland's borders" medal by the Border Guard High Command; many collectives and individuals were awarded certificates of merit by the Border Guard High Command for their outstanding achievements in implementing the "People's Border Defense Day" and the "Border Building and Protection" movement.
