The silk weaving craft in Van Phuc dates back over 1,000 years, taught to the villagers by Mrs. A La Thi Nuong, a woman from Cao Bang known for her diligence and skillful silk weaving, who married into the Van Phuc village.

Since its inception, Van Phuc silk has been a prized commodity due to the skillful craftsmanship and the soul of the artisans embodied in every piece of fabric.

Through the vicissitudes and ups and downs of history, the Van Phuc silk weaving craft has remained strong for the past 10 centuries and continues to develop, becoming a famous traditional craft of the capital city. This traditional product is now not only popular domestically but is also exported to many countries around the world.
