On October 30, a delegation of the Polish National Academic Exchange Agency (NAWA) led by Dr. Wojciech Karczewski (General Director) visited and worked with the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City to promote cooperation in the fields of education, training and research between Poland and Vietnam.

Speaking at the reception, Mr. Wojciech Karczewski affirmed that Vietnam, especially Ho Chi Minh City, is becoming a dynamic and potential partner in Poland's international academic cooperation network.

He said NAWA wants to expand its connections with the city’s universities, research institutes and innovation centers, which are also at the forefront of digital integration and transformation.

"Poland has a long tradition of education, with a network of universities and research institutes among the top in Europe.

Through scholarship and academic exchange programs, we hope to create more opportunities for study, research and exchange for Vietnamese students, lecturers and scientists ," Mr. Karczewski shared.

The head of NAWA said that Poland is currently implementing many support programs such as Stefan Banach Scholarship (master's scholarships for developing countries), Ulam Programme (for international scientists to study in Poland) or Bilateral Exchange Programme (scholar exchange under bilateral agreements).

"We believe that Vietnam is one of Poland's important partners in the Southeast Asian region and there will be more and more Vietnamese students and lecturers participating in these programs," he added.

Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Bui Minh Thanh welcomed the visit of the NAWA delegation and expressed his appreciation for the educational cooperation activities between the two countries in recent times.

He said that after expanding its administrative boundaries, Ho Chi Minh City has a huge development space, from industry, services, tourism to finance and logistics, leading to an increasing demand for high-quality human resources.

"The city really wants to have more opportunities for Vietnamese students, lecturers and researchers to study, exchange and cooperate with Polish universities and research institutes. We expect that research groups from the two countries will connect, share knowledge and solve some practical problems that the city is interested in," Mr. Thanh emphasized.

According to Mr. Wojciech Karczewski, NAWA is ready to act as a bridge, helping Ho Chi Minh City strengthen its links with leading Polish universities such as the University of Warsaw, the University of Kraków or the University of Gdańsk, through joint training programs, academic exchanges and joint research.

The goal is not only to bring Vietnamese students to study in Poland, but also to create an environment for both sides to learn and contribute to global knowledge.
