Promoting cybersecurity cooperation between Vietnam and Poland

Minister Luong Tam Quang expressed his delight that the two ministries will sign a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation on cyber security during the visit to Vietnam of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski.

On October 27th, in Hanoi, General Luong Tam Quang, Member of the Political Bureau and Minister of Public Security , received Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Technology of the Republic of Poland, Krzysztof Gawkowski.

Welcoming the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Affairs of Poland to Vietnam to attend the signing ceremony of the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime ( Hanoi Convention) and to visit and work with the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security, Minister Luong Tam Quang emphasized that the Convention is a comprehensive and unified legal framework at the global level, serving as a bridge for international cooperation in investigating and sharing information on crime prevention and control among countries.

Minister Luong Tam Quang stated that since Vietnam and Poland established diplomatic relations in 1950, the relationship between the two countries has been built and developed positively in all areas, including political -diplomatic, economic-trade, and education and training, especially after Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's visit to Poland in January 2025.

Affirming that Vietnam and Poland still have great potential and room for further cooperation, especially cooperation between law enforcement agencies of the two countries in the fight against crime, Minister Luong Tam Quang expressed his pleasure that the two ministries would sign a Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of cybersecurity between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the Ministry of Digital Technology of Poland during the visit of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski to Vietnam.

On this occasion, Minister Luong Tam Quang requested that the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Technology of Poland pay attention to promoting exchanges of delegations at all levels between the two sides; sharing information and experiences; opening communication channels and bilateral exchanges between relevant ministries and agencies in the fight against transnational crime, international terrorism, drug trafficking, high-tech crime, human trafficking, organized illegal immigration, and other types of crime.

Strengthening cooperation in training and improving the professional skills of law enforcement officers between the two countries; supporting each other's positions and policies on common international issues at regional and international forums; creating favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community to settle down and live legally in Poland; simplifying visa procedures for Vietnamese citizens entering Poland for investment, trade, study, and tourism...

Speaking at the reception, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski acknowledged and highly appreciated the role and positive contributions of Vietnam in general, and the Ministry of Public Security in particular, in the development, completion, and successful organization of the Hanoi Convention signing ceremony, affirming that it is a symbol of multilateralism in the fight against cybercrime.

Agreeing with Minister Luong Tam Quang on the need to strengthen political trust and promote the effective implementation of cooperation agreements, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski affirmed that the Polish Ministry of Digital Technology will closely cooperate with the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security in implementing the Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of cybersecurity between the two sides, contributing to making the bilateral cooperation between the two countries in general, and between the two Ministries in particular, increasingly deeper, more practical, and more effective.
