This is considered an important turning point, creating a foundation for Hanoi volleyball to develop more strongly in the new period.
Speaking after receiving the trust, Ms. Tran Thuy Chi affirmed that she will unite with the Executive Committee of the first term, innovate, and promote collective intelligence to fulfill the important tasks assigned by the Congress.
The Congress also elected an Executive Committee of 15 members, including 5 members of the Standing Committee. Mr. Nguyen Viet Hoa, Director of the Center for Physical Education and Sports (Hanoi National University) as Permanent Vice President; Mr. Bui Dinh Loi, Head of the Hanoi Volleyball Department as Vice President and General Secretary.
The congress agreed on three strategic directions for the first term: developing high-performance volleyball, promoting grassroots and school volleyball, and promoting the socialization of resources.
Specifically, high-performance volleyball will focus on building a training roadmap for young athletes from the grassroots to the national team, improving the professional quality of the men's and women's teams to compete in national and international tournaments; striving to have a national championship team within the term.
In the movement and school sectors, the Federation will coordinate with the Hanoi Department of Education and Training and schools to organize volleyball tournaments for students, build clubs in schools, and expand movement tournaments to many subjects.
Regarding socialization, the Federation diversifies resources through connecting businesses, enhancing communications to attract sponsorship, creating a stable fund to serve facilities and improve the quality of coaches and athletes.
In recent years, Hanoi volleyball has shown strong vitality with a widespread grassroots foundation. The capital is currently the training and competition place of 8 professional volleyball teams (4 men's, 4 women's) - very potential numbers. In particular, Hanoi's volleyball movement is leading the country.
In terms of high achievements, Hanoi volleyball has had remarkable marks such as the bronze medal for men at the National Championship in 2022 and the promotion of the women's team in 2024.
The men's youth team also won a silver medal at the National Youth Championship in May 2025. Every year, Hanoi volleyball has athletes called up to the national team.
However, these achievements do not fully reflect the potential of volleyball in the capital. Volleyball activities still face major challenges. Among them, youth training is not systematic, and there is no close connection between schools, clubs and professional teams.
Besides, the facilities have not met the demand. The Hanoi team even has to rent a training location. Financial resources are heavily dependent on the budget, while socialization is not effective. This is shown by the fact that the Hanoi team is the only team without foreign players in the National Championship.
In that context, the Hanoi City Volleyball Federation was born, with the desire to become a bridge, create a sustainable development ecosystem, solve existing problems and bring the capital's volleyball to new heights.
